Table of Contents
When looking at a phone, the first thing you see is a phone’s display. When comparing both displays, the realme 8 Pro catches attention for its super AMOLED display—projecting deep, immersive blacks, especially in AMOLED-oriented wallpapers. Oppositely, the POCO X3 Pro has a slightly larger display, a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, and a touch sample rate of 240Hz, making the consumption of content or the user’s gaming experience buttery smooth.
In terms of build, the POCO X3 Pro gains additional protective points for its Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The realme is lighter in comparison, but nothing beats a sturdy smartphone.
Powering the realme 8 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G paired with an Adreno 618 GPU; on the flip side, we have the POCO X3 Pro with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset and Adreno 640 GPU. Thus, the POCO X3 Pro has a better GPU compared to its competition.
In other performances, sourcing from Kimovil’s AnTuTu scores the realme 8 Pro at 327,458, while the POCO X3 Pro sits at 561,303 which entails that the latter performs better and can better handle intensive applications and games.
Both smartphones sport the same RAM at 8GB; however, the POCO X3 Pro wins the department of storage at 256GB, while the realme 8 Pro is only capable of holding 128GB of storage.
The realme 8 Pro’s whopping 108MP main camera tramples over the POCO’s 48MP main camera. In addition, the realme uses Samsung’s HM2 camera sensor, which realme advertises to produce images as good as photos taken from a Mirrorless Camera—something to look out for.
However, upfront, the POCO X3 Pro’s camera is slightly better at 20MP than the 16MP provided by the realme 8 Pro.
These are just specs, though, as numbers don’t always guarantee quality. We’ll know which cameras are better once we have both units side-by-side for a direct comparison.
Both smartphones feature similar connectivity at WiFi 5. But, the POCO X3 Pro is better equipped with NFC and IR Blasters for those situations where the user needs a second control device. It also has stereo speakers for better audio experience especially when playing games or watching videos.
The POCO X3 Pro wins the long-term game with its higher battery capacity at 5,160mAh than the 4,500mAh of the realme 8 Pro. However, when we talk about charging speeds, the realme 8 Pro is the quicker device to bounce back with its 50W SuperDart charge, while the POCO X3 Pro steadily charges at 33W.
Which one to get?
In terms of overall performance, build, features, the POCO X3 Pro is the clear winner—especially at a PHP 1,000 cheaper price tag. Better performing hardware, sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and bigger battery capacity are some of the factors that can persuade a buyer into choosing this device. There’s also the 6GB + 128GB model for PHP 12,990 if you’re looking for something more affordable.
However, if you are out and about, and are into photography/cinematography, the massive 108MP camera of the realme 8 Pro, paired with its AMOLED display and faster charging rate can perfectly cater to those needs.
If overall performance is needed, especially gaming, side over with the POCO X3 Pro.
