Realme has officially launched in the Philippines its latest smartphone, the Realme C3. Given its specs and price tag, we can see it as a budget-friendly gaming smartphone, and more. Let us give you the reasons why.
MediaTek Helio G70 chipset
In case you’re not familiar, the Helio G70 is a new chipset from MediaTek that launched in January. The company considers the G70 as a chipset for mainstream smartphone gamers and sits below the more powerful Helio G90. It’s manufactured using the 12nm process and is equipped with an ARM Cortex-A75 and -A55 CPUs with large L3 cache, ARM Mali G52-class GPU and LPDDR4X memory controller. It also sports MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology to provide the following features:
• Intelligent prediction of Wi-Fi & LTE concurrency triggers in just 13 milliseconds
• A faster response between smartphone and cell-tower
• Defer calls while in-game without the connection dropping for a moment
• Intelligent, dynamic management of CPU, GPU and memory that ensures smoother, sustained performance even in long periods of high load
• Enhanced power efficiency for even longer gameplay
If that is not enough, check out the benchmark scores below:
• AnTuTu – 181,968
• Geekbench – 366 (Single-core), 1,264 (Multi-core)
• 3DMark – 1,189 (SSE – OpenGL ES), 1,174 (SSE – Vulkan)
• PCMark – 8,540 (Work 2.0)
• AndroBench – 300.97 MB/s (Read), 122.91 MB/s (Write)
Large 6.5-inch Mini-drop Fullscreen display
If you’re going to use a smartphone for gaming, then having a big screen is a big advantage. Fortunately, the Realme C3 is equipped with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a good 89.8% screen-to-body ratio. Not only would your game look immersive, but other content such as videos and photos would be easier to view.
Triple Rear Cameras
Aside from being a smartphone capable of gaming, the Realme C3 is also a versatile shooter, thanks to its triple rear cameras consisting of a 12MP F1.8 main, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro. For selfies, it has a 5MP F2.4 camera with AI Beauty Selfie. So, if you need to post something on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, the Realme C3 can take care of that.
Dedicated microSD card slot
Some smartphones don’t offer expandable storage, while others use a hybrid setup, which prevents you from using your second SIM card slot. The Realme C3, however, has a dedicated microSD card so you can expand your storage, while at the same time, maintain your dual-SIM connectivity.
5,000mAh battery w/ reverse charging
We’re fond of smartphones with large batteries. What’s the point of having all those cool features if your device can’t last a whole day of heavy usage. The Realme C3 addresses that issue with a 5,000mAh battery. In our review, it was able to provide us with 26 hours and 19 minutes of playback. It even supports reverse charging so you can charge other smartphones.
Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10
The Realme C3 runs on Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. It features animated wallpapers, system-wide Dark Mode, a Quick Tools sidebar, Eye Care mode, screen recording, a Focus Mode, split-screen, personal information protection, and the like. The device also comes pre-installed with apps such as the usual Google services, Shopee, and Facebook.
And that sums it up. The Realme C3 is priced at PHP 5,990 (3GB + 32GB), so not only it’s a budget-friendly gaming smartphone, it’s a reliable daily driver as well.
