realme has added a new smartphone under the C series, sitting between the C30 and C35, the realme C33. It sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display, 50MP rear camera, 5,000mAh battery, and a Unisoc T612 chipset. Read our hands-on below.
The realme C33 is one of those entry-level smartphones mixed with a modern design in some areas.
On the front, things look typical or outdated. We have a large 6.5-inch screen with thick bezels. The screen is only HD+ but still looks decent even for the size. It has an IPS panel so colors look natural. Viewing angles are good too.
On the left, we have the card slot for two nano-sized SIM cards and a microSD card.
On the right, we have the volume buttons and the power/lock that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
Down below there’s the 3.5mm audio jack, main microphone, microUSB port, and loudspeaker.
At the back, we have two large camera lenses. One for the 50MP main and the other for the depth-sensing camera.
Our unit sports the Aqua Blue colorway but there’s also Night Sea. It has a glossy finish and produces these very tiny sparkles when the light hits it. It’s a smudge and fingerprint magnet, though.
Although the front part looks “entry-level”, the rest of the device isn’t. The frame has flat sides and curved corners and features a metallic paint job to make it look premium. At 8.3mm, the device feels thin and easy to grip. And despite the large battery, it has a decent heft at 187g.
Powering the realme C33 is a Unisoc T612, the same chip powering the narzo 50i Prime. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. For the battery, we have a large 5,000mAh capacity. This hardware configuration shows that this is angled toward users who are looking for an affordable daily driver, which we expect to be priced below the C35.
realme will unveil the local price of the realme C33 soon, so stay tuned.
