The Redmi Note 7 is the newest smartphone hype this year as it has a shockingly affordable price (based on conversion) for its premium mid-range specs. For this specs comparison, I will be comparing it with the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2, one of the most popular smartphones of 2018, and see which device has the upper-hand on each key smartphone aspect. Let’s start!
Here are their detailed specs:

Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
When it comes to the display, both devices are of the same level of viewing experience but the Redmi Note 7 has a slight edge when it comes to screen aspect ratio. You actually wouldn’t notice it in the real-world use since the difference in their horizontal screen resolution is trivial to say at the least.
Both devices sport a Snapdragon 660 chipset which comes with an Adreno 512 GPU. Performance-wise, the Redmi Note 7 comes out on top since the Max Pro M2 has an underclocked processor which is slower. In terms of gaming, both can handle light-to-moderate graphics games with ease which is good especially for mobile gamers.
The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 48MP main rear camera which is quite a shocker even for me when I first heard it. However, this lens is powered by a Samsung GM1 sensor which basically is an interpolated 12MP lens. With this, we can say both of the devices have the same number of megapixels. As for the camera quality, I can’t say who wins yet as we’ve yet to get our hands on the Redmi Note 7.
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 carries a 5,000mAh battery with flash charge technology while the Redmi Note 7 has a 4,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 tech. I can safely say that the former has a slower charging speed than the latter since it has a larger battery capacity and ASUS stated that it is indeed slower than the fast charging technology that is commonly used in smartphones to protect its battery from being in danger.
Here are the prices of each smartphone:
The Redmi Note 7 is a better pick in terms of affordability (converted price), performance, and it comes with a USB Type-C which provides a faster file transfer rate. The ZenFone Max Pro M2, on the other hand, is equipped with stronger glass protection, a dedicated microSD card slot, stock Android, and larger battery capacity.

Since I need to use two simcards and at the same time, I want to use larger memory storage, I would choose Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 over Note 7. It would be a great upgrade for my Max Pro M1. :)
