Rumored HTC Mondrian to go 1.3GHz

As if the current set of 1-gigahertz processors for smartphones isn’t fast enough, a rumored HTC Mondrian (could be the HTC HD3 or HTC Diamond3) with a 1.3GHz boost should be revealed by 3rd quarter this year.

The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650A/B 1.3GHz CPU on a 4.3″ screen (480×800 pixels). It will also run the new Microsoft Windows Phone 7 which should be interesting.

If it will be the HTC HD3, then we’ll expect the specs to be similar or better than the HD2:

4.3″ capacitive display @ 480 x 800 pixels
HSDPA, HSUPA
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
5MP AF camera @ 2592 x 1944 pixels with LED flash
Stereo FM Radio tuner
GPS with A-GPS support

Rumors like this one could practically stop people from getting a new smartphone now and wait ’til the end of the year. To think the HTC Desire and the Evo 4G hasn’t even reached the Philippines.

  1. Now nobody would want to buy a WinMo 6.5 unless it can easily be upgraded to handle WinMo 7. But that 1.3GHz is fast.

  2. 1Ghz is still plenty right? Sige lang, labas lang ng labas to push the prices of Desire to affordable levels. :)

    ciao!

  3. I don’t think they can release EVO 4g here. EVO 4G only works with CDMA band.

  4. Nag-iiba na talaga ang perception ng tao sa phone ngayon.. It’s a do-all machine unlike before where great reception is all we need for a good phone. Ngayon kailangan magandang camera, magandang screen, etc. etc..

Mobile phones are starting to get to the digital camera phase where they say more MP is better. Optimization and user experience should be fore front in the development of new phones :) As well as compelling apps to enrich the experience more.

  5. With due respect, the image shown is that of HTC Evo 4G but anyhow its nice(let me correct myself)…its crazy… that phones nowadays are gonna make my laptop looks outdated considering that whoping 1.3Ghz processor…well that made my laptop jealous.

  6. @sealwhisker
Actually the phone pictured is the HD2. Notice the buttons are windows-based.

Does anyone know if you can buy the HTC Evo here in the Philippines?

  7. @imitator101

I’m not sure but the EVO 4G might not be compatible with the bands available here in the Philippines since this is a CDMA phone.

  8. CDMA ang EVO 4g, WALANG SIMSLOT, theres no way to use it in the Philippines na GSM/Sim dependent

i just got my HD2 and i ran Android on it, next best thing to an Evo

  9. ang mga phone na magkakaroon sa pinas

    Htc desire hd (android)
    htc schubert (windows phone 7)
