  1. Hats off to you Samsung for bringing Android to the masses.

@Sir Abe, any idea what version it runs? I hope at least 2.1

  2. Yup, it’s Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair)

  3. Sir Abe,

Which is better Galaxy 5 or Galaxy Spica?

Would you know if these phones are capable of v2.2?

  4. Well I think this is better than the LG Optimus, considering the Optimus only runs on Android 1.6

  5. oo nga. will this kill the spica?

  6. A review of this phone would be great. Thanks.

  7. cheaper, break the 10,000 pesos barrier

  8. Hi! When will open line Samsung Galaxy S be in stores? I don’t like locked ones.

  9. this has qvga screen resolution which somehow limits the number of android apps u can install with it. spica has hvga which supports most apps on the android market..

i dont think it will kill spica specs wise. at tsaka pamura na ang spica, u can get it for 12-13k nalang..

  10. Wow, all that plus Android 2.1 for 10k? It’s great bargain!

  11. i don’t think this will kill the spica. i for one would still pick the spica over this one.

  12. what else is new? this is the same phone with a smaller LCD. What we need is a dual-sim and affordable Android phone.

Get that Samsung. Dual-sim Android phone!

  13. off topic: sir yuga anong version ng x10 ung gagana ang 3g sa pinas x10a or x10i? gagana ba ung version ng at@t? ty

  14. @kahitanoito – would still go for the Spica.

    @jeff – it’s the X10i. that’s the one I’m using.

@boring – Torque Mobile has an Android with Dual-SIM. Watch out for that soon.

  15. sir ang s at@t is it i or a?
    ty

  16. sir ff-up no downsides ng x10 compare s galaxy s, xcept s-amoled screen tsaka version os?ty

    • @jeff -internal storage is only 1GB compared to the 8/16GB of Galaxy S

  17. This looks like a corby that has htc tattoo’s buttons. I’m having difficulty on what to buy: htc smart or this phone. Hope sir abe makes a full review of this phone.

  18. @simplynice93: i think htc smart lacks an important feature – wifi capability.

for me, i would then prefer this phone over smart.

  19. this is it :) the corby-android!

  20. bring spica to 10k barrier pls.. :D

Thanks!

  22. @sir abe – “Torque Mobile has an Android with Dual-SIM. Watch out for that soon.” — this could be interesting, it could kill all competition, a true affordable Android phone, if they’ll sell it below 10k.

  23. share ko lang po, a post from sir jayvee: http://abuggedlife.com/2010/03/01/torque-gd55-and-g88-cheapest-android-phones-from-china/

medyo old post na but worth the info :)

  24. i will wait for the 4G (non-GSM) Android phone.

That’s the real deal. Voice over IP. Call through the internet.

  25. mas gusto ko htc tattoo..meron nadin update sa 2.1 after..HTC confirmed it..

  26. Which store offers that price? I checked Samsung Glorietta yesterday and they’re selling it at 13,400++

They sell it at P12,900.

  29. galaxy 5 review pls sir yuga

  30. Yun na ba pinaka mababa price? mga 11K?

  31. Sir abe, do u hav an idea if galaxy 3 will be released locally? TIA

  32. wala ba talaga backlights ung keys?

  33. Abe, can you comment on the screen? I was told the screen quality while good enough, is really very different from the pack at the higher end.

  34. I saw in most stores na may sign na upgradeable daw ang Galaxy 5 to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Totoo po ba yun Sir Abe? We have to be sure, you know. Thanks!

  35. is that true that galaxy 5 is upgradeable to 2.2? thanks

  36. many stores claim its upgradable to 2.2, is this really true?

  37. im planning to buy thsi fone.this my first time to use an android fone.mas ok po ba sy ana di hamak
kesa s ibng touch screen fones ng samsung?pleas help me po to decide.thanks po:)

  38. this 12100 in automatic centre with 4gb micro sd card

Tnx so much!

  40. hi!i have this fone na!yay! but my prob is i dunno where to download games for this one.
samsung kies said that this fone does not support download of games because of android terms…wtf!

  41. @lhaine
try mo magdownload thru wifi sa android app market..my free games and apps dun..

  42. this phone will get its froyo update this december. I read it on somewhere on a forum.

    @boynextdoor..thnks po:0

  44. Any news on Galaxy 3? :/

  45. so far this phone satisfies me….im not really a gadget freak..i just want a touch screen fone with wifi…
im just really looking forward for the android 2.2 froyo for mw be able to use applications that require flash player..samsunng emailed me back….they said this year…:) welll malapit n matapos ang 2010..sana naman asap:)

  46. is skipe possible here?

  47. Wait for the Huawei IDEOS :)

  48. @aice-yup skype is possible.i can make calls to another skype user.

  49. got my galaxy 5 and found out that all apps downloaded are stored up to phone memory. its not in the settings.. :( anyone here have the same problem?
