Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Sony Xperia Z1 vs LG G2

Greetings, spec fans! Just recently, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 & Sony, the Xperia Z1. Both phones pack the best punches as they feature huge displays, fast Snapdragon 800 CPUs and more. Now, let’s see how they fare up against their closest competition — the LG G2.

Galaxy Xperia G2

If you would notice, all these devices fall into the same product category. They’re all packing 5-inch or larger 1080p displays, boasting Snapdragon 800 chipsets & running Android.

As you can see, the Galaxy Note 3 takes the crown in most of the categories. It has the largest display, the highest RAM, the most expandable storage, the only one to offer UHD video recording, Android 4.3, the juiciest battery and the thinnest package; not to mention it also has that improved S-Pen.

However, not everyone enjoys a big display. With that said, the Sony Xperia Z1 takes the crown by being the one to pack the sharpest pixel density. The Z1 also features a 20.7 megapixel camera that has been put a lot of work into. All of that is wrapped around in a glass & aluminum body that is waterproof.

At 143g, the LG G2 is the lightest among the triad, but it’s also the thickest. It also doesn’t offer expandable storage. Apart from that, the LG G2 doesn’t seem to fail when compared to its new competitors while not offering anything unique as well.

On the brighter side, while the Galaxy Note 3 & Xperia Z1 had the advantage of more technology for a later release, the LG G2 will be launching here in the Philippines earlier – this upcoming 25th.

So, which one will be your Android pick? Or are you waiting for something like the HTC One Max, the next iPhone / BlackBerry, or the Noki *cough* Microsoft Lumia phablet? Feel free to leave your comments down below.

Note 3 : masyadong malaki for me at hndi magkasya sa bulsa
LG G2 : perfect na sana. Ive heard reviews na this phone has screen problems.
Xperia Z1 : bezels na makapal.

But still i go for G2, just waiting for their updates regarding screen sporadic ability

ang importante may pambili ka ng unit. At ang importante may load ka at nakakacall and text ka. same lang naman na mga cellphone yan parang laptop lang yan at desktop spec pataasan at pagandahan para mabili ang product nila.

  6. Razel says:

I go for G2 ofcourse!specs and feature-wise.. LG will make it big this time. G2 is a phone to watch our for here in Manila!

  7. shinkirogozen says:

considering the climate in the philippines id always pick a sony phone. lets see how your note3 and g2 after the storms and floods hit the metro.

  8. gerald says:

    G2 is the wise !

    tested & proven.
    ergonomic design easy to handle.
great display, great battery life, great camera, fantastic UX and friendly price…

  9. Lezure2010 says:

I’m pretty sure the Galaxy Note 3 has a 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor, which is a little faster than that of the other 2 at 2.2 Ghz. That should be noted. Plus until the pricing for all the devices become available. It’ll be hard to pick a clear winner.

  10. len says:

    Note 3!

I use my phone mainly for browsing the net & watching series/movies, so i’d prefer a bigger screen. Maganda sana kung water resistant but i’ve been using samsung devices eversince so i’ll stick with it. ^^

  11. abrnaki says:

ROM = Read Only Memory di ba? hehehe… di ba dapat Internal Memory or something?

  12. wew says:

feature-wise, ill pick sony because it has good camera and is also water-resistant pero mas pipiliin ko pa rin ang lg g2 kasi kahit mas malaki ang screen size ng g2 eh mas maliit naman ang footprint nya

  13. Isko says:

Out of topic pero I just want to point out that you have been using the term ROM in some past articles including now. ROM should not be equated with Flash Memory , they aren’t the same.
    Thanks

  14. Zander says:

I’m Sorry but why compare the note with the LG and Sony Experia, I mean even Samsung themselves have said that the note 3 is a whole new category.

    • henrymakoi says:

Of course I maybe wrong sir, but I think it is a marketing strategy. If what you say about Samsung’s claim with the Note 3 being in “a totally new category” ,is true; then they maybe targeting if not creating a niche market where there are no, or at least few competitors as of the moment. If they are successful in doing this, people who wanted to stand out among others would want to buy this product. And this is where the demand for the Note 3 kicks in.

  15. Phillip says:

Don’t be confused ha, the note 3 has ALMOST exactly the same dimensions as the note 2, in fact thinner pa. So baka lang kase may perception ang iba na dahil naging 5.7″ na sya lumaki pa lalo. So HOORAY ito sa mga naka Note 2 na gusto mag upgrade. :)

  16. iamlegend says:

yeah Smart should get this as my retention

  17. balantoy says:

c’mon Smart Phils, get this Z1 with a good LTE package offer. Can’t wait!

    • Bob Freking says:

Fixed the information on the battery now. I just don’t get where the “copy paste work” comes from.

  19. irditch says:

ok na ako sa lg g2!

  20. Aaron says:

Z1 :) Its perfect in the hands. Easy to grip. The 5.7 inch Note III is already big for a Smartphone. But for me Z1.

  21. Benedict says:

I’d still prefer the LG G2. Spec-wise it is not the winner. But if we consider its 5.2inch display on the size a bit larger than Galaxy S4 with big battery and 13MP camera with OIS…this is the perfect phone for me! 32Gb(around 25GB useable) is enough for me. Actually, my Galaxy S3 has a total of 26Gb of storage but I only used around 12GB (mostly for music, pictures & videos from camera. no movies).

Note 3 is too big for me. If you want a phone, do not pick it. I’m also not a fan of AMOLED displays. I like IPS much better especially the IPS displays of LG.

Xperia Z1 is also a beast. Sporting 20MP camera with all the technology of SONY applied in one product, it really stands out!
I only have 1 concern, it has thick bezels! I personally dont like it. Im also not a fan of its TFT display but that may change if I see this new phone myself.
Considering SONY, they price their products a bit higher than expected.
Water resistance is a welcome feature :)

    • Blitzkrieg says:

Available na dito sa S.Korea ang LG G2 since August 8 at ung Korean version ay 32gb internal, removable batteries 2610 mAh tapos expandle memory up to 64 gb mejo hintayen pang bonus sa 18 holiday kc dito.Mas maganda tlga ang IPS display

  22. Yow! says:

di ba mga sir 3200 mAh yung note3? Anyway, mas mataas pa rin compare sa dalawa.

ang edge lang siguro talaga ng note3 aside from having a larger screen is yung S-pen. masmadali nga siguro kapag may s-pen ka sa ganyang kalaking screen.

    • Bob Freking says:

Sorry about that; updated it now. Thanks!

  23. freeje says:

Poor comparison. Should compare similar sized screens.

    • wew says:

actually ryan depende naman yan eh,usually talaga pag nagcocompare ng phones ay hindi sa generation nila kundi sa kung anung category sila ex. flagship category, midrange category, etc. pero pwede rin naman na by generation para makita kung anung gadget ang dabes…

    • ryan says:

you cant compare S4 to these monsters. S4 is one generation behind.

    • freejiot says:

you should have compare with cherry mobile, my phone, torque or stuff like that. freeje thinks of the screens. she looks poor though.

    • daniobe says:

The comparison here was made as such because these are the three major devices that were launched at IFA this week.

    • Justin says:

Not really. Although I must admit the Note III shouldn’t be there. The other two (Z1 & G2) are flagship phones. Samsung’s flagship phone is the S4. It should have been S4 vs Z1 vs G2.

  24. iamlegend says:

5.7″ is too big for me

    i’ll take the Z1, FTW!
