Samsung today announced the Galaxy XCover7 smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active5 tablet. Both devices are designed to withstand challenging work environments.
The XCover7 and Tab Active5 feature IP68 water and dust resistance certification along with MIL-STD-810H testing for durability. The XCover7 is rated to withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters, while the Tab Active5 sustains falls of up to 1.8 meters when used with its protective case.
Both devices support 5G connectivity and WiFi capabilities for reliable performance in remote locations. The XCover7 has WiFi 5 and the Tab Active5 includes WiFi 6. POGO docking interfaces allow multiple devices to charge simultaneously.
Large, high-resolution displays measure 6.6 inches on the XCover7 and 8 inches on the Tab Active5. The Tab Active5 screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals.
User-replaceable batteries combined with fast charging technologies provide extended uptime. An additional feature of the Tab Active5 allows it to run without a battery in certain situations.
Productivity-enhancing functions include programmable keys and quick barcode scanning. The devices also offer compatibility with various third-party accessories.
As the first Samsung rugged devices to support Knox Vault security, lock screen data remains protected even if lost or stolen.
The Galaxy XCover7 and Tab Active5 will be available starting in January 2024. No pricing as of writing.
