Samsung is reported to be prepping up a Galaxy S4 Google Edition, running a stock version of Android instead of the TouchWiz UI.
According to Geek.com’s sources, the Samsung Galaxy S4 GE (Google Edition) will sport the same looks and internal hardware as the original flagship. Only this time it will be TouchWiz-free and will run on stock Android Jellybean. Although backed by Google, it is not to be confused with its Nexus line of smartphones.
A stock Android running inside a Galaxy S4 may not appeal to some but it could offer some advantages. First would be the immediate OS updates as soon as a new version of Android is released. Second is a bigger internal storage by dropping gimmicky features and bloatware.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition is reported to be unveiled at the Google I/O later tonight and is expected to be available in the US starting June.

Super-like. Vanilla android is definitely smoother than touchwiz. Couldnt care less about touchwiz features after all.
Must go with s4 because google will remove some features
I doubt if it will be available here in manila. Best choice is still the nexus 4. :(
OMFG! IT’S TRUE! THEY ANNOUNCED IT IN GOOGLE I/O! IT’S REALLY TRUE! AND I ALREADY BOUGHT THE GS4. *kills self*
If you have the Qualcomm variant you dont have to worry. I’m pretty sure you can port it to your S4.
pretty sure you can get a custom rom on your current gs4, and put vanilla android on it. the ge edition is the same with the original one
What processor will it use? Octa core or snapdragon?
LTE or the “octa” core version?
Wrong fucking move, Google. Why not have an HTC ONE GE?!
if this turns out to be true, i’m gonna throw wads of money to google and samsung
this is fake, there’s no source on geek
If there’s a Galaxy na gusto kong bilhin, eto na un…Let Google do the talking here…
