Samsung W2014, the Snapdragon 800-powered flip phone

Looks like Samsung is serious about releasing luxury clamshell-type dual-screen smartphones as they have released another one but this time sporting a Snapdragon 800 CPU – the Samsung W2014.

w2014_1

Let’s do a recap, last August Samsung released two flip phones – the Hennessy and the ridiculously priced Galaxy Golden. Now we have the China Telecom-exclusive W2014 which is the successor to last year’s W2013 made popular in China.

The W2014 packs a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED WVGA (480 x 800) display or 252ppi, a 13 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front-facing, dual-SIM connectivity and 32GB of internal storage with microSD card support.

Powering the device is a Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 1,900mAh removable battery, and Android 4.3 Jellybean.

Now for the “luxury” part, this flip phone is expected to carry a price tag of more than 10,000 Chinese Yuan or at least Php70,000. You can go hating now.

      marian, 29,900

Postpaid plan 999 with 400 cashout/monthly for 24months.

Maganda nga siya. Made it to the top 10 electronic products of 2013 by consumers report.

    • marian says:

    • lesly says:

tama ako meon na G2 grabe wlang pagsisisi n binili ko un astig tlaga,… tpos tagal p mlowbat gwa nung 3000mAh ung battery nia….

  4. Random says:

This is aimed at the so called “Elite” chinese class who could care less about the price.

  5. wew says:

    • tomtom says:

true! wala na maisip yung samsung

  6. iAmYourFather says:

    “nag-vevertu” ka na ba samsung?

    • sinkin says:

vertu is made by nokia,right?..but anyway waste of money if you are goin to invest to that kind of phone.i must try LG phones

    • iamyourmother says:

samsung wants to line with vertu, i guess.. :)

  7. luiz says:

Just a suggestion: Try LG G2. It’s only around 30K then you can have the phone together with a free pocket photo already. :)

    • Tedd says:

That’s right mj. Totally agree with you. Pero overall still it’s a really good device. Kasi marami nga customization pero useful and effective naman.

    • mj says:

pangit lang sa G2 eh yung LG skin on top of Android software, “overcooked” ba. Nasobrahan sa customization. but overall, great device

    • wew says:

      paid by LG, eh?

  8. rfc says:

10,000 yuan is loose change for most people in china.

    • Justin says:

Really now? Where did you get that idea?

  9. The Truth says:

    • wew says:

kahit 50 years hindi magiging ganun kamahal presyo nyan….magiging mahal lang siya dahil sa luma na siya..UN LANG actually sa tingin ko in 30 years tingin ko magiging mahal eh ung iPhone 2G dahil sa history nito at kung pano nito nabago ang mobile communication technology.

  11. roiji says:

i really want an android fliphone… but this being 70k… ito na pinakamahal na samsung mobile device! mas mahal pa sa mga highend ATIV laptops nila! kalokohan!

  12. pcso says:

    • angel says:

what? 70k??? if ever mas mag invest nalang ako sa LG phones like G2 kesa sa ganyan.

  13. Sharingan_yeah says:

To be fucking honest, okay na sana yung specs. The processor, ram, memory and everything. Pero putangina, 70k??? Tangina. Tangina! Tangina everywhere.

    • oh_my says:

if its really 70k…sobrang kalokohan. you can buy 2 or 3 cellphone with that.

  14. bobo says:

Hahaha!! Wag masyadong mag magaling at google lang pala alam mo brod… Maka bobo wagas haha!!

  15. wew says:

nung nakita ko ung “2.3 ghz” sabe ko ok na to at least reasonable ang presyo (thinking it is priced on abt 40 k based on the previous flip phones) pero nung nakita ko ung “70k” sabe ko shet grabe ang mahal.kahit cnu d maiisip na bilhin to hahahaha eh mas luxurious pa ang iphone eh.

    • luna says:

i wont invest to this kind of phone..seriously. there are better phones now a days like LG G2 and others.

    • secret says:

  16. Demer says:

From my point of view, it would be a collectible of sorts. You wouldn’t exactly see someone buy it and use it as a daily driver. Maybe if it was made of gold(is it?), then it would be of some value.

  17. thecorrescode says:

Not made of gold = not luxury

My iPhone 5S Gold beats this piece of adulterated ShitSung Fagdroid dumbphone anytime of the day…LOL!

    • Pia says:

These two are my bestfriends. Lol. Keep it up!

    • jokab says:

troll down. i repeat, troll down!

    • John says:

RING-RING!!! The truth is calling, you can’t afford an Iphone 5s.

  18. abuzalzal says:

Oh my, what was Samsung thinking, the return of the comeback, too much power wasted there..

Mga rich old geezers?

    • rezzie says:

    • luciii says:

It does say that the phone is China Telecom-exclusive.. The demand for this kind of phone could be high in China.. So it makes sense to give such a high price. Low supply, high demand.

  19. Hate says:

Wow! 70k??? hahaha!!! Very Funny Samsung!!

Antique Design – Price it rediculous!!!* (Samsung way of thingking)

    • silver says:

kesa magsamsung kayo mag- LG G2 nlng kyo, same lng na snapdragon 800 processor quadcore 2.3 Ghz as well.

    • luiz says:

Samsung? 7oK? o why? I think G2 is better and very affordable ranging P30,000 plus may free pocket photo na. Maganda na ung phone mo, me freebie p!

    • mang kan0r says:

      …. thingking of jillrose ….

    • Annie says:

      Pano naman yung rediculous?

    • talino says:

Galing mag bash!! Tanga hahah!!!

    • Dorkyfrek says:

Hoy bobo! Ikaw ang very funny! Hahahahaha! Wahahahaha
