Samsung has just announced their latest ‘premium’ smartphone in the form of the Samsung Z, and the company says that it is targeted towards users who want a different experience packed in a light and efficient package since it is running Tizen.
The Samsung Z comes with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display at 720p resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. 2GB RAM, 8+2 megapixel cameras and a 2600mAh battery. On top of all of that, the Korean company did not fail to include their much marketed heart-rate sensor and fingerprint scanner, coming along with S-Health, the Download Booster and the Ultra Power Saving Mode. The phone also supports 4G LTE.
The phone will be initially available in Russia in Q3, with other markets following suit after that. Samsung has lots of plans to improve the Tizen ecosystem through app challenges in Russia, so it will be nice to see how everything turns out.
