SKK Mobile Silver, 5.7-inch quad-core under Php10K

We dropped by SKK Mobile’s concept store at SM Cyberzone in SM City Bacoor just recently and spotted their latest dual-SIM Android smartphone carrying a 5.7-inch HD display and a quad-core processor, the SKK Mobile Silver.

For those who are not aqcuainted, SKK Mobile is a new local mobile phone brand that offers a wide variety of feature phones and Android smartphones. The SKK Mobile Silver is their first and only quad-core device to date.

As for the design, it’s obvious that the Silver took a lot of inspiration from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 minus the stylus. We wanted to do a quick hands-on of the device, unfortunately SKK Mobile doesn’t have a working demo unit available at the time. But if you’re one of those who already bought or tried the device do share your experiences by hitting the comments below.

  1. If it’s equipped with the same innards as the OHD2 and the A919i (MT6589 + Powevrsgx544 gpu)..then , Not Bad for the price

but somehow the author left it blank…bakit kaya?

    • It has the same CPU and GPU.

  2. Hello. Anyway, nung huli akong nagpunta wala pa daw stocks. Meron na po ba? Salamat po.

  3. I own a unit and it is a very capable phone. The only bad thing I could say is the unit I got have a small air bubble in the LCD screen which I initially thought I could easily remove by re-installing the pre-installed screen protector. It turns out to be underneath a thin layer of the screen itself when I removed the protector and there is a tiny speck or dust particle in the middle of the air bubble which I believe is a product of the manufacturing process. I posted the situation in their FB page and I was told to visit their service center and have it checked by their technician. Will post the result of my visit to their service center once I’m back in Manila this week from a vacation in the province. I hope they replace the unit although I doubt it.

  4. Hello. I got mine last saturday. June 15. It’s a very superb smartphones, comparing to Galaxy note II, it’s quite competitive. My tita, told me, wow, talo S3 ko ah. wait ko yung tita kong isa pag uwi, kasi naka Note II sya. And then, we tried it here in our office, and my officemate were astonished by its performance. I really like the smoothness and the clarity of the camera. But a little cons regarding to the battery life when using full data access. It could only last 4hrs. But in stand-by time. I think more a day it can survive. Maybe because of the screen size that consume more power. By the way, my unit is still under observation. The store OIC told me to observe it first this week, then come back to them this coming saturday or sunday for the feedbacks. I don’t have any feedback nman talga except sa battery life. hahah/ sabagay, pag ANDROID kasi mabilis maka-drain ng battery. And good thing, they told me na pwede ko namang palitan yung unit kung hindi ako satisfied. Pwedeng same unit or ibang brand na. kung may change, ibabalik nila. walang kaso sa knila yun, parang yung satisfaction muna ng customer yung inuna nila.
Yun lang, over-all OK sya sa akin. Hindi ko nga lang mabulsa, pero it looks so elegant. parang samsung galaxy note III na. hehehe.

    • sorry! just to correct my sentence.
“It’s a very superb smartphone!” bakit kasi may (s) hahhahah.

    • “By the way, my unit is still under observation. The store OIC told me to observe it first this week, then come back to them this coming saturday or sunday for the feedbacks.”

Wow, red flag. Parang beta testing where you pay to beta test the gadget.

    • I don’t want to pick a fight, instigate something or to disrespect your tita, pero hindi nito talo ang s3, lalo na ang gn2. Know the facts.

    • @xeno: ur comment was a little bit out of the line. he didn’t tell that skk silver is better than gs3, it is only a simple reaction from his tita. lahat naman cguro tyo na pumupunta d2 sa site ni sir abe eh my common sense kya nga tyo ngbbasa ng mga review ng mga gadgets pra my idea tyo especially ung mga average person n sapat ung kinikta pro gs2 nla maexperience mga bgong technology. ska isa pa wag mging brand conscious most of the android devices ngaun mapalocal brand man o branded like samsung, htc, sony etc. eh pareho lng ang gmit depende nmn syo un kung pano mo imamaximize ung device na gmit mo. may gnote 2 k nga pinanglalaro mo lng ng candy crush so anung use nun. minsa kc intindihin muna ung binabasa bgo mgreact. peace bro.

    • @Xeno

      @kokorokoko

Anyway, I just found this.

Kaya kokorokoo, back to you ang comment mo, intindihin mo muna binabasa mo bago ka magcomment.

Don,t get me wrong though, maganda din tong skk silver, actually may lamang talaga din siya sa s3, may dual sim, dual standby to na parehas 3g capable, at akin lang e kung may pipili between this and a low priced s3, kung kasya naman sa budget, i think the s3 is a no brainer, dahil “hindi talo ng skk silver ang s3”. may kasabihan nga, you get what you pay for.

  5. Critikim:

Where did you buy your unit? That looks like a good store for after sales support.

    • @Suigeneris

Hello, I bought my unit sa “Flasher Telecom” – SM Bicutan Bldg B.

      Ito lang masasabi ko:

A good choice for a cheaper cost. It depends on you nalang talaga kung anong prefer mong smartphone(s), by the time goes on, may bago at panibago na namang darating kasi.
That’s why, I chose this phone over the branded one (well-known). Honestly wala akong pambili ng pang high-end phone eh, dapat nga mag Myphone or Cherry Mobile ako, pero laging nagtatalo yung dalawa, kaya nag SKK Silver nalang ako. Para maiba naman. “Quiet but helpful”. (for me ah). (Don’t forget to save some money and be satisfied to your gadget as initial investment. pag mayaman kana, bilin mo na ang lahat.

      Thanks for reading my opinion.

  6. Available po ba ito sa Cavite Area??

    Sana available.

  7. My only reaction, having an 8GB built-in storage is a No-No for android…since Android does not permit installation of apps into an external SD card…unless your phone is rooted.
