Along with the local release of the Xperia Z Ultra, Sony has also made official in the country the mid-range Xperia M and Xperia M dual, and will arrive with a price tag of just under Php11k.
The Xperia M inherits the familiar Omni-Balance design of its high-end cousins (at least on the sides). It’s light, well-crafted and feels good in the hands. However, it feels plasticky which quickly reminds you that you’re holding a mid-ranger.
It sports a 4-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) TFT display which equates to 245ppi. Although the screen sits at 4-inches, it appears smaller due to the relatively thick bezels. Pixel density is very decent but the reflective TFT isn’t going to impress you that much.

Dear All:
To those who haven’t experienced having an experia m, don’t express negative assumption. If you desire one, go through with it. If you don’t have the budget to have one for this “branded” mobile, keep your mouth shut and purchase an affordable or cheap one. Panay kayo comment wala ka namang pangbili at di ka pa naman nakaka gamit and you haven’t known the whole specs of it. BS!
Guys why dont you try to get feedback from Europe and US to prove to you thats its worth to buy Xperia M . What Sony did lower the price to afford by some filipino but actually it is not cheap if you really under read well the specics . i have this one, and I will not buy this if it is not good , maybe some of ther may say not good because they have their connection with other brand but we have to accept the fact that Sony xperia get the best brand to compete with the Market thats why this leading brand now almost making the price of the low low price bec they feel now the impact of xperia to people worldwide .
You’re right Gary…
hay nako Pilipino nga naman.. too much talk… why dont you just tell- its expensive for you… as if you tried all that kind of unit type of phones you mentioned… isa pa… i dont think that sony is cheap one.. because sony is made from real company of sony erickson…you cant tell it china fake..kasi po mahirap gayahin ng china fake ang quality ng sony… sa screen plang.. hirap na dahil high quality… palibhasa… mahilig kasi tayong pinoy na kahit tunay o hindi… sa mata ng iba..looks china..dahil nga uso satin.. tsaka if quality rin lng… it depends upon the user how will take care of it.. ako mga kasama ko dito… all are expensive phone.. iphone 5 and Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4, pero parang ganun rin lng… my mga features na maganda sa iphone meron naman sa samsung at syempre meron rin sa sony at etc.
Actually, this was the cheapest for international brand. Complete with cam with flash, 1gb Ram, and Adreno 305 GPU. Pero you have many option for local brands for your 11k. Pero if you’re going to a brand this was the chepest and the specs of this was more than decent enough for your daily usage.
sana 10k down :)
Sna mas babaan pa nila ung price ng xperia m kung 10490 kunti lng dif nila ng xperia l may nakita kc ako na xperia l 11,300.
Alam ninyo, before kau ek ek at pak pak ng pot pot dian, bakit d nlang muna kau bumili at subukan kunh tama ang agam agam at hinala niu, i say lahat mali
Meron ako nito, but kahit nasanay na ako sa 1080 from xperia z at tri luminous ultra z, the display of xperia m is the equal match of apple retina, hindi nman kasi sila nagkakalayo dahil same oem ng lcd sa xperia m entry phone sa over advertised apple iphone5 na only 640 pixel lang nman, that is if u know technology lang nman, kesa typical na pinoy yabang. Bottomline, ganito lang kasimple, hindi porke halimbawa ang makina ay same 1.6 ay same same na iyan, hindi po depende sa brand at kung diesel na pipitsugin mausok at mahina versus petrol yan, lalo nat kung honda racing engine pa iyan, example 1.5 liter turbo v8 running ethanol produces 680hp or about da power of current formula one car 2.8liter naturally aspirated @ 20,000 rpm.
Right ka Bro.Vhin.
best buy pa ang LG 7 series 2 over this phone..LG feels premium
sa mga nasanay na sa IPS at AMOLED wag nyo tong bilhin baka masira pa yong mata nyo dito. maganda yong recommend ni Boss Abuzalzal iceberg na lang naka IPS at Gorilla Glass pa…
What I don’t like about it.. is that it looks like a China phone or a local phone brand.. MyPhone knows better in terms of look.
Ehrrr whutttt? That statement of yours is beyond stupidity i have to say. Have you not realized that myphone copies phone structures and designs of phones such as samsung, lg, and such. Myphone barely possesses an original design, note: barely, they may have some but only to a very limitied amount. Myphone lacks a lot of thing in their phones, and in my opinion…is not trustworthy nuff(buy one and expect it to die after a few months). It is a fact: that myphone copies and have copied structures and designs of leading brands such as samsung. Sony has been in good business, but myphone isn’t one of the top competitors as they are obviously not original and lacks something or lot of things inside. I’m not saying sony is the best but if it’s samsung vs apple, then it’s lg/htc vs sony xperia. And all are leading brands and companies.
@GGnaTULOYYYY mejo misleading ung comment mo myphone does not design their phones, depende un sa kinukuha nilang unit sa mga supplier nila
The phone body (not back!) reminds me of Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 IMO.
When SONY is asking Php11k for a shitty TFT that isn’t even a QhD…you know darn well that you are being ripped-off.
SONY’s TFT technology needs to go
… and you may go as well. The world doesn’t need another ‘crap’ like you :P
this phone has decent specs but the only downside is the display. TN TFT lang kasi. limited viewing angles plus washed out colors. di to recommended sa mga nasanay na sa IPS at Amoled Panels.
i think what sets this apart from other local brand is that this one has LTE(xperia M).. this might be the cheapest “branded” LTE capable phone..
Xperia M has an LTE variant? Cool…
There is a much cheaper android LTE phone… Forgot the brand (one of the less known mobile phone companies from our neighbors) saw one in Pampanga last week and it only sells around 8k and compatible with 2100 signal…
It appears that im mistaken.. i’ve read something about LTE in gsmarena, but it seems like they’ve edited it out… such a shame ’cause i’ve been thinking of getting a nexus 7 gen 2 and a cheap LTE phone for set up..
@JP It would be really helpful if you can remember the brand of the cheap LTE phone that you’ve mention a while ago.. thanking you in advance.. :)
At this price, I’d rather buy a myphone iceberg. Crap.
ang washed out nman ng display…not worth it
i think isa na to sa mga xperia phones na hindi tinatanggalan ng mga features, ung ibang phones tinatanggalan ng flash ung iba naman sd slot ung iba naman front camera tsk tsk kung tutuusin di naman kawalan sa kanila ang lagyan nila ng ganitong features eh matuturing nga lang to a minor features
kid iskwa-kwa, mahilig kang manlait ng kabobohan ng ibang tao…Ingles-in mo nga sinabi mo?
lol
