Summary of advantages
ASUS ZenFone Max Plus (M1):
* Larger display size
* Higher display resolution
* 18:9 aspect ratio with slim top and bottom bezels
* Higher rear camera resolution
* Larger RAM
* Face Unlock feature
* Smaller footprint
* Lighter
ASUS Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL):
* Front camera LED flash
* Updated Bluetooth
* Larger battery
* Lower price
Based on the summary above, the Max Plus clearly has more advantages over the ZenFone 4 Max. One of them is the larger display with higher screen resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The slim top and bottom bezels are attractive features, not to mention the smaller footprint despite the bigger screen size.
Camera-wise, the Max Plus also has higher rear camera resolution over the ZenFone 4 Max, which theoretically, should produce better images. Both devices pack 8MP front shooters, however, the Max Plus settled with screen flash compared to the LED flash found on the ZenFone 4 max.
When it comes to performance, the Max Plus packs a MediaTek MT6750T chipset while the ZenFone 4 Max has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430. Both phones scored closely in AnTuTu, however, the former has the advantage when it comes to RAM as it has 4GB compared to the latter’s 3GB. ASUS also placed some extra features on the Max Plus with its Face Unlock which is a biometric feature that we’re starting to see more in smartphones.
While the Max Plus look better on paper, the ZenFone 4 Max is not to be scoffed at. It may not have the “Battery King” title, but it does have a larger 5,000mAh battery. Considering the modest specs, we expect the ZenFone 4 Max to last longer.
Lastly, the price, with all its bells and whistles the Max Plus is priced at Php11,995USD 204INR 17,328EUR 195CNY 1,489 which is Php2K more expensive than the Php9,995USD 170INR 14,439EUR 162CNY 1,240 ZenFone 4 Max. It’s a reasonable price jump, but if you’re short on the budget, the latter is a more attractive option.

Ovetqall, i say ZF4 Max is better. Snapdragon SoC is better than mediatek. Kahit sabihin pang pareho lang score sa mga benchmarks, SD chipsets are way better than MTK when it comes to performance. Dont have to elaborate on that.
Renan Matthew A. Fajardo says:
Anong pinagkaiba ba sir ng Mediatek sa SD sa performance ?

Still much better the ZenFone max 4, rather than the max plus. As it is what I used right now. I will give the battery king named for the max 4.
Asus addict says:
I regret buying this phone the buttons feel flimsy and cheap
Fei says:
Madaling uminit at masira. Waste of money ang Asus. Better mag samsung or huawei.
