Summary of advantages

Xiaomi Mi Note 2:
* Option for 6GB RAM
* Larger internal storage
* Higher rear camera resolution
* Higher front camera resolution
* HD audio
* Larger battery
* Slightly slimmer and lighter

Samsung Galaxy Note7:
* MicroSD card support
* Iris scanner
* Heart-rate sensor
* IP68 rating
* S-Pen

Based on the summary above, the Mi Note 2 already has a number of advantages over the Galaxy Note7, notably the larger 6GB RAM, internal storage, and battery. It also appeals to those who want high-resolution imaging with its 22.56MP and 8MP cameras, and better audio quality with its HD AQSTIC sound tech.

The Galaxy Note7, on the other hand, has some worthy features absent on the Mi Note 2 like microSD card expansion and IP68 rating. In addition, it has an S-Pen, iris scanner and a heart-rate sensor.

What we can’t conclude yet for the Mi Note 2 is the screen resolution and fingerprint scanner as Xiaomi didn’t openly confirm. But if it’s going to follow the Mi 5s Plus, then our best guess is it’s just Full HD (a plus for the Galaxy Note7’s QHD) and has a fingerprint scanner as well.

What do you guys think? Is the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 enough to satisfy those craving for the discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note7? Let us know in the comments below.

    It does have a fingerprint scanner integrated with the home button (which I believe uses the same technology as the Mi 5s) and the screen is Full HD. Both details are confirmed at http://en.miui.com/thread-387909-1-1.html

    Also, I think it’s worth noting that the front-facing camera has auto-focus. All the other details are here: http://en.miui.com/thread-392829-1-1.html
