Another foldable smartphone enters the battlefield.
Smartphone manufacturer TECNO has just unveiled its very own foldable smartphone, the TECNO Phantom V Fold, at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The Phantom V Fold will feature a 7.85-inch main screen at 120 Hz, a 6.42-inch curved sub-screen, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
TECNO is claiming that the Phantom V Fold will have an aerospace-grade, drop-shaped hinge that is “virtually seamless and crease-free.”
It seems that TECNO is focusing its foldable smartphone implementation as a means to enhance the photo-taking experience, with its press materials mostly showing people using the cover display as a viewfinder for selfies for example.
The Phantom V Fold has a 50MP Main camera, a 50MP portrait sensor, and a 13MP ultra-wide. For selfies, it has a 32MP sunscreen camera and a 16MP main screen camera.
The Phantom V Fold will be coming in two colors: black and white, with both colors having a leather-like finish.
In terms of pricing, the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage will start at $1,099 or around Php 60,240 (as converted).
We don’t have any news yet on official Philippine pricing and availability for the Phantom V Fold but we’re just happy that more and more companies are joining the race for the best smartphone foldable.
