Our last shots of the HTC Wildfire weren’t taken nicely so we’re doing another round of HD video and photos; and this time, it’s with the red-hot model.
I’ve gone used to HTC handsets sporting bland, cold colors like brown and black so it was a huge surprise to see a red-hot HTC Wildfire in the flesh.
I think they did this with the HTC Smart with a range of colors but it would be nice to see the same on mid-range to high-end models.
See short video clip above of the HTC Wildfire — notice that the TFT screen flickers and though it supports up to 16M colors, I can still see the separation of the color gradients.
HTC Wildfire specs:
Qualcomm MSM 7225 528MHz processor
3.2″ TFT display @ 240×320 pixels
384MB RAM, 512MB ROM
up to 32GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
3G/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps
5MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
FM Radio with RDS
GPS w/ aGPS support
1300mAh Li-Ion battery
With a suggested retail price of Php17,500 (though stores are selling it for as low as Php15,500), the HTC Wildfire could be one of those bang-for-the-buck Android phones out there along with the Spica and the X10 Mini.

Sorry panick lang ako hehehehe. Narecover ko na contents ng usb ko. Pero kailangan ko pala mount ko as disk drive para makita ko ang microsd. My bad.
Josh says:
Can anyone provide me the link for the USB driver? Nasira contents ng microsd ko. Hindi ko madetect ang phone ko pag nakasaksak na siya sa usbport. Thanks.
Josh says:
I just got my wildfire against the spica. I agree the video resolution is okay despite of the lower specs. I’m still exploring it but it’s way more responsive than the spica. I’ve tried the spica a number of times on the Globe booths. I just don’t like the images from the camera for a 5 megapixel camera but that may be due to poor lighting. I still need to evaluate more.
Over all, thanks to yuga for an informative review of the phone. I’m beggining to like HTC.

@Pinkay: The wildfire comes with a default application that can read office apps. But you can download/buy/research “documents to go” to create and edit office documents such as ppt, word, and excel, it comes with a pdf viewer as well. It’s the same app that iphone users download. :)
Pinkay says:
Hi, I’m planning to get a Wildfire, but I don’t get to see much reviews on how it performs with Office documents, like, is it possible to edit Word and Powerpoint using the Wildfire? The lady at SM North Edsa told me, viewer lang daw sya. But there are websites that offer applications for this. Can somebody help me with this?

Thanks guest! I’ll check it out.. I’ll wait till December na din para madami ng options haha
Guest says:
the HTC Aria was just released in Hong kong for about P6000 less than the Desire. might want to wait for it before buying.
breeze says:
Thanks Jon! kala ko kasi around P30K plus yung desire kaya hindi ko na pinansin haha. Nice to know P25k lng cya.
Jon says:
@Breeze
Save up a bit, maybe you would like the HTC Desire. It is currently priced at around 24-25500k at online stores. It may not have the best quality when it comes to camera quality, but it is very much decent. The browser is great, because of the 1GHz Snapdragon processor. I myself will be saving up for that phone. Or maybe wait until the price goes down. lol.
Breeze says:
Sir Yuga!
I need your advice. I’m planning to get my first android phone. Budget is P20k lng. I use the camera a lot and also the browser. Which phone do you prefer? Samsung Spica / Samsung Galaxy 5 / HTC Wildfire. Thanks!
tada says:
This is interesting…
Bagay din pala, pinanindigan ang ‘wildfire’
But im glad i got the black one…
:)
Ryan says:
Yummy Android Phone.
Hope I can Get one within this year.
Patrick says:
Hi Mark,
Screen is TFT so I guess it’s like those of the N70 screens of Nokia only that it’s capacitive touch screen. I guess if you’re not that much choosy/sensitive with the colors, this would be enough. Should this came out earlier, I could have got this instead of my N1 not because of the specs, but of the price.
Mark Villegas says:
Hi Guys,
I’ve seen reviews that said na panget yung screen, is it true?? how is it compared to screen of Nokia Phones?
Thanks

Very nice! kailan kaya ang giveaway for this product :)
Jon says:
I’ve been recommending this phone to friends, those who want a cheap, yet quality Android phone. If only it came with at least 800mhz, I would be buying this for myself as well. HTC Desire is still the one I’d be getting.
