The LG G5 was announced just a few days ago and along with it are new and really cool features that will convince you to upgrade. With that said, here are the top 5 features of the flagship LG G5 that make it one of the boldest among the crop of 2016 devices.
Dual Rear Camera
With the G5, LG has decided to bring the dual front camera module of the V10 to the back. It’s still got the same combo of a standard lens and a wide-angle lens setup. This time, they used a 16-megapixel sensor with a 75-degree lens and an 8-megapixel with a 135-degree wide lens. There’s also optical image stabilization, so there’s no need to worry about shaky videos and blurred stills.
Modular Design
Perhaps the best feature of the G5 is the so-called Magic Slot. This is a step forward in modular smartphones. Using the Magic Slot, you’ll be able to swap the chin of the G5 with available accessories. For now, we have the LG Cam Plus and the LG Hi-Fi Plus. The Cam Plus adds dedicated controls for photography and bumps the battery capacity, while the Hi-Fi Plus gives DAC audio for audiophiles.
LG Friends
Aside from the modular parts of the G5, it also has external companions called Friends. LG made their own 360 Cam which you can enjoy with the 360 VR headset. Also, they have a cool rolling robot equipped with a camera for home monitoring or remotely taking care of your pets.
Always On Display
Perhaps an important feature is having an always on display for displaying time and date plus notifications. Of course, LG has that on their new flagship. They even paired with a case to make fashionable for users.
Performance
Lastly, but definitely not the least, is the power LG G5 has. We’re seeing reports that it’s getting up to 133k on Antutu 6.0 benchmark thanks to its top of line Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. It also uses Flash storage for faster read and write speeds for your files. All backed up by a 2800mAh battery which is replaceable thanks to its modular design.
Those are the top features of the LG G5. We’re glad LG took the a brave step in making a refreshing smartphone despite little sacrifice for the appearance of the device.
