With the rise of smartphone Hybrid Dual-SIM trays come the inevitable: the use of an adapter to fully integrate the dual-SIM capability on the smartphone while expanding the storage. We’ve seen this being sold on several local smartphone groups in the past few weeks, and we can’t help but examine the make and durability.
For one, the adapter bears a flex cord containing the circuit, which can pass through a thin gap such as the area surrounding the SIM tray hole. The adapter is then used to insert another SIM card onto the device without compromising the functionality of the microSD card due to its sheer size.
The downside we’ve seen, though, is that the flex cord may be susceptible to wear and tear as it’s exposed, notwithstanding the additional bulk it will bring since it will look like an extended part of the phone that you have to mind when carrying or placing in a bag pocket. Furthermore, this could also destroy the overall aesthetic and construction of the device as you’re inserting modification, and you may lose your official warranty in the process.
These kinds of adapters are being sold starting at Php280USD 5INR 404EUR 5CNY 35.

There are a coupl’a videos on YouTube on how to use the both a SIM and a micro-SD card in the hybrid tray.
In brief, you peel the SIM off the card, put it on top of the SD card, then insert into the tray.
I tried it on an expired SIM, and it my phone at least recognized its network. My phone has 32GB of storage so it was more of an experiment, dunno if I want to try it with my regular SIM
