Two flagship smartphones from vivo has been launched in the Philippines today — the vivo X80 and vivo X80 Pro. Despite being under the same series, both devices cater to different users. The first thing that we’ll see about the vivo X80 series is its design. The X80 series projects premium and elegance because of the Ceramic Cloud Window 2.0 design that balances the square plate and the round camera module. The X80 series also comes with a back cover made of Fluorite AG Glass which is pleasant to the touch and resistant to fingerprint smudges.
The vivo X80 is 8.30mm. It’s quite thinner compared to the latter which is 9.10mm. The X80 also weighs lighter with just 206g while the X80 Pro is at 219g. The X80 Pro has one color which is Cosmic Black that resembles the starlit night sky while the X80 has a 2nd color option which is Urban Blue.
Both smartphones feature a 6.73-inch 3D Curved Screen, an AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. What differentiates them is the WQHD+ or QHD+ which is equivalent to a resolution of 3200 x 1400 versus the vivo X80 which has an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080.
If you’re looking for a smartphone with a higher resolution, go for the X80 Pro.
The X80 series boasts powerful chipsets. The vivo X80 has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC partnered ARM Mali-G710 GPU while the vivo X80 Pro houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC coupled with Adreno 730 GPU. Both smartphones are run by an OriginOS based on Android 12. Also, vivo releases its new proprietary chip called the V1+ chip for the X80 series which is designed to enhance imaging, display and game graphics.
The X80 series surely packs powerful chipsets that are good for heavy multitasking and can handle a lot of apps and games. For their AnTuTu Benchmark 9 score based on nanoreview.net, the vivo X80 Pro got a score of 987186 while the vivo X80 go a score of 965989.
When it comes to memory and storage, there’s no need to compare these smartphones because both come with a sizeable 256GB internal storage and a 12GB LPDDR5 memory and an extended memory of up to 4GB
The X80 Pro houses a Quad-Rear Camera configuration consisting of 50MP F1.57 GNV main, 48MP F2.2 ultra-wide, 12MP F1.85 portrait and 8MP F3.4 periscopic telephoto (5x optical) while the vivo X80 only bring us a Triple-Rear Camera setup consisting of 50MP F1.75 main, 12MP F2.0 ultra-wide and 12MP F1.98 portrait. Both X80 variant gives us a good 32MP F2.45 front camera.
Both devices boast the latest ZEISS Optics which meets the ZEISS T* Coating standards. With this superb iteration, it’ll bring the ZEISS Super Night Camera feature for superior night photography to the X80 series. They also bring to the table the ZEISS’ Cinematic Video capabilities, the ZEISS Anamorphic film lenses and a Gimbal Portrait Camera which lets users shoot in portrait mode with much more stability.
Aside from this are other imaging features such as the AI Video enhancement, Active Centering OIS System, and an XDR Photo display technology to make ordinary images look like HDR images on its screen.
We can clearly see that X80 Pro advances with its amazing Quad-rear Camera setup but it doesn’t mean that the X80 won’t pack a punch because aside from its good Triple-Rear Camera setup are the ZEISS optics and other imaging features which were house inside both smartphones.
Both smartphones has Dual-sim, 5G connectivity, X-axis linear motor, color temperature sensor, Infrared remote control, dual speaker, Laser Focus, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, in-display Fingerprint scanner and USB-C.
What differentiates them is that the X80 Pro has an ultrasonic large-area Fingerprint scanner from the regular one of the latter, Hi-Fi, and IP68 certification.

For the battery, the X80 Pro boasts a 4,700mAh battery life that supports 80W wired charging + 50W wireless charging compared to the 4,500mAh of X80 which supports 80W wired charging.

The vivo X80 is priced at Php 45,999USD 784INR 66,450EUR 747CNY 5,708 (12GB + 256GB) while the vivo X80 Pro is retailed at Php 59,999USD 1,022INR 86,675EUR 974CNY 7,446 (12GB + 256GB).
The X80 series are surely top-of-the-line smartphones brought us by vivo. Its chipset, storage, memory, cameras, and other great features are really serious about making this series as powerful as they can.
Clearly the vivo X80 Pro got our eyes with a price of Php 59,999USD 1,022INR 86,675EUR 974CNY 7,446, but if you’ll opt for a slightly lower budget, we can go for the vivo X80 option.
