When Asus gave its Zenfone with 4GB RAM, everyone was surprised to see such high memory for a smartphone. Well, 4GB is not enough for the people in Vivo as they have confirmed an upcoming handset to sport a whopping 6GB of RAM.
The Vivo XPlay 5 will feature the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 along with the 6GB RAM. It’s also confirmed to have a dual curved edge display, something similar to the Galaxy S6/S7 Edge. Vivo is also throwing in Hi-Fi 3.0 standard in its flagship device.
The pictures posted are leaked renders of the Vivo XPlay 5 showing us what to expect in term of design and looks like it’s also going to have a fingerprint scanner at the back.
The device is scheduled to be launched on March 1st. As for the pricing, the XPlay 5 could sport a premium price tag but with the current specs released, it’s no cheap device after all.
6gb ram for what??
To let many software developers get away with poorly coded and tested apps. And bragging rights.
I’m a Zenfone 2 owner and from what I’ve leaned, you don’t need more than 3GB in your android. Give it 2-3 years when smartphone is available for windows dual-boot and then that will be the time when ram is needed.
