Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
VIVO Z5x
Realme 3 Pro
The VIVO Z5x is the better option if you want the biggest screen possible. It doesn’t have a notch, unlike the Realme 3 Pro, but it uses a punch-hole design to house the front camera. However, the Realme 3 Pro has the advantage when it comes to glass protection as it comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Powering both devices is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset that comes with an Adreno 616 GPU, which means we can expect the same level of performance, however, the VIVO Z5x has a larger RAM variant which is beneficial if the OS runs plenty of background processes, and you are into heavy multitasking and gaming.
Another unique advantage of the VIVO Z5x is that it carries a Universal Flash Storage (UFS) which is faster than the storage used in the Realme 3 Pro. It’s like having an SSD instead of an HDD.
Camera-wise, the VIVO Z5x has triple rear camera setup with a dedicated ultra-wide angle lens, which makes it a more versatile shooter. The Realme 3 Pro, on the other hand, only has dual-rear cameras. For selfies, the latter has a higher resolution, but that doesn’t always mean that it provides better quality. We’ve yet to know which device has a better overall photo quality given that we don’t have the Z5x in our hands. Stay tuned for that!
The battery is an essential factor when it comes to choosing smartphones. While both devices did not disappoint, the VIVO Z5x has a larger capacity and USB OTG reverse charging. However, the Realme 3 Pro has a faster-charging technology thanks to the higher wattage and VOOC charging technology.
Here are the prices of each smartphone variants:
Given these prices, the VIVO Z5x takes the lead here especially if you’re looking for a refreshing design (punch-hole design), its larger screen, faster storage, larger battery capacity, and reverse charging capabilities. However, you can always opt for the Realme 3 Pro as it has glass protection, higher front camera resolution, and VOOC 3.0 flash charging. Not to mention, it’s already available in the Philippines.
