There will always be a market for feature phones as there are users who prefer a device for basic connectivity (calls and texts only) with long battery life. One good example is the Stone V3 Plus from VK World. It’s not just a standard feature phone, though, as it also comes with some extra features.
At first glance, the Stone V3 Plus looks like a walkie-talkie. It has a rugged look to compliment its IP54-rated body, meaning it can take water splashes and can keep out most dust, sand, and dirt from getting inside.
On the front, we have the 2.4-inch colored display with 320 x 240 resolution. Above it is the earpiece, while down below are the physical keys which include a D-pad and T9 keyboard.
On the left is the switch for the LED torch light which located up top along with the wide antenna which the company claims is capable of “best signal”, and the retractable antenna for the FM Radio.
Down at the bottom is the microphone for calls, and a flap that hides a microUSB port for charging, 3.5mm audio port, and USB Type-A output port for reverse charging or for powering USB-based accessories.
At the back is the 0.3MP camera, loudspeaker, and the removable panel that gives you access to the large 4,000mAh battery, two SIM slots, and a microSD card slot.
On the hand, the Stone V3 Plus is chunky but lighter than what we expect. Plastic quality feels cheap so we don’t expect it to survive serious drops.
On the bright side, it looks like the kind of feature phone that’s handy to have around when you’re heading out of town where signal and power sockets are not readily available.
The Stone V3 Plus is priced at $33PHP 1,937INR 2,797EUR 31CNY 240 and can be purchased from VK World {see listing here}.
