What personal information is required by the SIM Registration Law?

With the SIM Registration Law now in effect, existing users are now required to register with SIM numbers (prepaid and postpaid) with PTE (Public Telecommunications Entity within 180 days (6 months). Otherwise, the SIM will be deactivated.

So what personal information is needed for the SIM registration?

  • Full Name
  • Complete Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Cellphone Number
  • Serial Number of SIM Card

Aside from this information, the SIM user will need to submit an original and true copy of any of the following documents with a photo:

  • Driver’s License
  • Philippine National ID
  • SSS/GSIS Card
  • UMID Card
  • Passport
  • Senior Citizen’s Card
  • NBI Clearance
  • Police Clearance
  • Firearms License
  • Voter’s ID
  • TIN ID
  • PRC ID
  • IBP ID
  • OWWA ID
  • Government Office ID
  • PWD Card
  • School ID (for minors)

If you are a postpaid subscriber, you are already automatically registered since your subscriber information will be used by the telco. Globe has also called for the fast-tracking full roll-out of the National ID System.

It is also possible that other verified accounts like your Maya number and GCash numbers can also be ported by the telco and used as your registration information for the SIM.
