HUAWEI MatePad 12 X (2026) Review
In a new update, WhatsApp now has support for 32 participants in a group voice call. The feature is finally rolling out to devices starting with iOS.
Previously, the maximum number of users in a call for WhatsApp was 8. The feature will be rolling out in version 22.8.80 in iOS. The group call feature will include an updated interface with a social audio layout, speaker highlight and waveforms. There will also be a small update on how users can access media that they’ve set to favorites.
Apart from the group calls update, WhatsApp will also be updating designs for voice message bubbles and info screens for contacts and groups. WhatsApp Communities will also be launched soon. It is a group-related feature that has been in development. It will reportedly allow people to search for groups about certain topics and receive updates about it.
The new update will start rolling out to iOS devices with Android updates coming soon. They have yet to announce the availability of group calls on WhatsApp’s desktop client.
