Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphones in the Philippines with the Xiaomi 12T Pro as the most high-end model. It has a large AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, triple-rear cameras, triple-digit fast charging, and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. There’s another smartphone, though, that has similar specs and is in the same price range, the OnePlus 10T 5G. So, if presented with these options, which one is the better choice in terms of specs? Find out here.

Summary of Advantages
Xiaomi 12T Pro:
• Higher screen resolution
• Higher main camera resolution
• Higher front camera resolution
• IR blaster
• IP53 dust and water resistance
• Bigger battery
OnePlus 10T 5G:
• More RAM options
• More storage options
• Faster charging rate
• More flexible pricing
Display
The two are almost identical in terms of screen size at 6.7-inches. They both have AMOLED screens, 120Hz refresh rate, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. However, the Xiaomi 12T Pro has a higher screen resolution which equates to 446ppi, versus the OnePlus 10T 5G’s 394ppi. It’s only a 52ppi difference, but if you’re looking for something with the highest resolution possible, go for the 12T Pro.
Chipset
Both are flagship-grade smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. They both pack octa-core processors clocked at a maximum of 3.19GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. This means we can expect the same level of performance from both.
Memory and Storage
The two differ in the memory and storage they offer. The Xiaomi 12T Pro only has the 12GB + 256GB model in the Philippines, while the OnePlus 10T 5G has 8GB + 128GB and 16GB + 256GB. In terms of capacity, the 12T Pro sits in the middle, while the 10T 5G either goes lower or higher, which gives it a pricing advantage, which we will discuss later. But if you want the highest RAM possible, go for the 10T 5G.
Cameras
Both devices have triple-rear cameras, although the 12T Pro wins for having the highest resolution at 200MP, versus the 10T 5G’s 50MP. The same can be said for the front cameras, as the former has 20MP, versus the latter’s 16MP.
Do not, though, that we’re just looking at the megapixel count, which doesn’t always equate to quality.
Other features
Both are similar in features. The two have dual SIM with 5G support, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, USB-C port, stereo speakers (although the 12T Pro is tuned by Harman Kardon), and in-display fingerprint scanners.
However, the 12T Pro has extras like the IR blaster for controlling some appliances, and IP53 dust and water resistance, which makes it more resistant to the elements.
Battery
For the battery, the 12T Pro wins again with its 5,000mAh capacity, versus the 10T 5G’s 4,800mAh. However, it’s just a 200mAh difference. The most significant difference, though, is their fast charging rate. The one on the 10T 5G has 150W, while the 12T Pro has 120W. Given that the former also has a slightly lower capacity, we can expect it to charge faster.
Price
The Xiaomi 12T Pro 12GB + 256GB is priced at PHP 37,999. On the other hand, the OnePlus 10T 5G 8GB + 128GB is at PHP 35,990, while the 16GB + 256GB is at PHP 39,990.
Which one to get?
Given the price differences, we can consider that we have three options. If you really have a strict budget of PHP 36K, the OnePlus 10T 5G 8GB + 128GB is the best option. It’s still a proper flagship with a smaller RAM and storage.
However, if you can extend the budget by an additional PHP 2K, you should get the Xiaomi 12T Pro at PHP 38K, which is the sweet spot given the advantages it has. But if you really need 16GB RAM, faster charging, and can stretch your budget to PHP 40K, go get the OnePlus 10T 5G 16GB + 256GB.
