The Xiaomi 13 Pro and 12T Pro almost have the same screen size with only a 0.06-inch difference. However, the former has a higher screen resolution, equating to 522ppi, compared to the latter’s 446ppi. Both have a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.
The two vary on the panel used, with the 13 Pro having an LTPO OLED, while the 12T Pro has AMOLED. The former has an advantage here as it provides better power efficiency when delivering variable refresh rates. Still, both panels can produce deep blacks and punchy colors.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro gets a huge improvement when it comes to its chipset with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2. According to Qualcomm, its Kryo CPU delivers 35% faster performance and 40% better power efficiency compared to the previous generation, while the Adreno 740 GPU has 25% faster graphics rendering.
AnTuTu v9 also shows the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 achieving a score of 1.24M, compared to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1’s 1.03M.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro definitely performs better than the 12T Pro, but we doubt users will easily notice the difference.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro and the 12T Pro have the same RAM configuration of 8GB and 12GB. Storage-wise, they’re available in 128GB and 256GB, however, the 13 Pro comes with a larger 512GB model. What gives the 13 Pro another advantage is that it uses UFS 4.0, while the 12T Pro has UFS 3.1.
UFS 4.0 can achieve read speeds of 4,200 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2,800 MB/s. UFS 3.1, on the other hand, has read speeds of up to 2,100 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1,200 MB/s.
Both devices have triple-rear cameras, with the 13 Pro having a 50MP main, 50MP telephoto, and a 50MP ultra-wide, while the 12T Pro has a 200MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro. The latter may have won based on the main camera resolution, the former has better telephoto and ultra-wide camera resolutions.
When it comes to the front camera, the 13 Pro also has a higher 32MP resolution, compared to the 12T Pro’s 20MP. But take note that we’re just talking about resolution which doesn’t always equate to quality. We’ll know once we have the 13 Pro for review.
The two devices have the usual features covered such as dual SIM, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GNSS, IR blaster, stereo speakers, USB port, fingerprint scanner, and dust and water resistance.
However, the 13 Pro has a better WiFi 6e (vs WiFi 6), Bluetooth 5.3 (vs 5.2), and an improved IP68 rating (vs IP53). The 13 Pro also arrives with MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box, while the 12T Pro will get it soon via an update.
The 12T Pro wins in terms of battery capacity at 5,000mAh (vs 4,820mAh). Both also have 120W fast wired charging. However, the 13 Pro has 50W fast wireless charging, so if that feature is important to you, this phone will give you that advantage.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro (12GB + 256GB) is priced at PHP 37,999, which is an attractive price tag for a flagship. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is yet to launch in the Philippines, but we expect it to be priced higher. Although, we’re hoping that Xiaomi can still keep it competitively low.
