One of Xiaomi‘s co-founder, Li Wanqiang, confirms that the new Mi 5 will be arriving early this year. It’s also been revealed that the new flagship handset will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor which has a significant boost in performance compared to its predecessor.
Along with that speedy chipset, there’s also a possibility of it having 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The arrival of the Mi 5 has also been confirmed, making its debut at February 27, 2016, and will be available a week after launch.
So far that was all that has been disclosed by the Chinese company’s co-founder and we’ll just have to wait until next month for the official launch and its international availability.

Was wondering this. The author could’ve made it much clearer, especially because this is a tech blog that specifically caters to Filipinos. Anong pake namin kung sa Feb meron na nito sa China? I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of those copy-paste articles that is infamous to this site.

The biggest cons of this phone is the MIUI. Better flash it with stock android.
Phil says:
Oh the irony of that comment when we have people running stock/near-stock android rooting their phones to get a MiUI interface!

plus the locked bootloader which takes up to 21 days to unlock. good luck to those planning to root this device.
