Xiaomi has formally launched their latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 11 5G. Some of its notable features include a four-sided curved display, a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, and a 108MP primary camera, to name a few. Read on to know more about it through our hands-on!
The Xiaomi Mi 11 5G boasts a 6.81-inch 2K WQHD AMOLED screen with support for HDR10+ and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen flaunts a shiny glass that curves towards the sides and even on the display’s top and bottom ends. Besides, the smartphone comes geared with glass protection, as it is covered by the new Gorilla Glass Victus. The smartphone also supports an under-display fingerprint sensor that is fast and accurate.
The latest Xiaomi flagship smartphone looks premium, starring a Blue glass panel geared with Gorilla Glass. Tilting the phone at different angles flaunts the stunning gradient back design.
Since the back is armed with glass, it may be susceptible to fingerprints and smudges. So, it is better to use the special eco-leather case that comes with the package.
On the right side are the power button and volume rocker. However, there’s nothing to see on the left side.
Up top are the noise-canceling microphone, the secondary speakers by Harman/Kardon, and an IR blaster that can be used as a remote control for home appliances.
At the bottom end is the Type-C charging port, speaker grills, primary microphone, and dual-SIM slot. It supports 5G capability on both SIMs. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD card slot, so you’re stuck with the default storage capacity.
At the back, you’ll also see the huge camera module headlined by the 108MP main camera.
For shooters, the Mi 11 comes with a triple camera setup consisting of a 108MP F1.9 (main), 13MP F2.4 (ultrawide), and 5MP (macro) sensors along with a dual-LED, dual-tone flash. The shot looked amazing, showing off crisp and nicely saturated images. Check out the sample shots below.
Apart from that, it can also record videos up to 480fps at full HD 1080p, 60fps at 4K and 8K resolutions, which is impressive. The super-macro is also powerful, and thanks to the OIS, videos are very stable even if you have shaky hands. However, for the front camera, we get a 20MP F2.2 with a wide-angle field of view that’s great for selfies or group photos.
As for the battery, the Mi 11 is powered by a 4,600mAh battery that supports QuickCharge 4+ and Power Delivery 3.0. It also supports 55W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. With the 55W fast charger, you can get from zero to 100% in just 45 minutes.
So far, we really like the design and specs of the Xiaomi Mi 11 5G. Top-notch processor, powerful camera, a full suite of connectivity, and large battery capacity.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 5G should hit the stores soon, and we’ll also share the local pricing with you once it becomes available. Watch out for our full review!
