One of Xiaomi’s entry-level offerings, the Redmi 5A, is finally receiving an official local launch in the country. While we’ve seen it floating about in the local market for quite some time now, courtesy of a few well-known resellers, only today will it be officially launched to the Philippine market. The company is touting the device as the “entry-level smartphone king”.
The Redmi 5A, oddly enough, sports a 5-inch 16:9 aspect ratio IPS display, a rare sight nowadays. Powering it is Qualcomm’s trusty Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with Adreno’s 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device is priced at a very enticing Php 4,590 and will be available on Lazada starting March 15th (See details here). Of course, when we get our hands on a unit, we’ll put that “entry-level king” branding to the test.
