Display

While Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G has a larger screen overall with a higher refresh and touch sampling rates, OPPO Reno7 Z 5G has a slightly better pixel density at 409 pixels per inch (ppi). The Gorilla Glass protection for Redmi does not seem to have an equivalent in Reno.

Chipset

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G uses a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G with an octa-core CPU and a max clock speed of 2.5GHz. For its GPU, it has a Mali-G68 MC4. OPPO Reno7 Z 5G, on the other hand, has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G with an octa-core CPU and a max clock speed of 2.2GHz. For its GPU, it has an Adreno 619.

To examine if there are any significant differences in performance, let’s take a look at their benchmarks.

Geekbench 5• 747 (Single-Core)
• 2,234 (Multi-Core)

3D Mark• 1,961 (Wild Life)
• 581 (Wild Life Extreme)
• 1,218 (Wild Life)
• 366 (Wild Life Extreme)

Apparently, Redmi has produced better performance benchmarks than Reno. This added with a slimmer and newer GPU. Nonetheless, Snapdragon processors are usually optimized for gaming more often than Dimensity.

Memory and Storage

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G has two options in this category, 6GB and 8GB for RAM, as well as 128GB and 256GB for internal storage. OPPO Reno7 Z 5G only has the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version. Both support microSD card expansion, but OPPO did not seem to cite how much it could accommodate via external storage.

Cameras

The resolution for all their cameras are the same except for their primary shooters. Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G has 108MP F1.9 as its main, while OPPO Reno7 Z 5G has 64MP F1.7. Another difference would be the ultra-wide feature for Redmi, something that is not present with Reno. Aesthetically, Reno’s back cameras can light up when charging or getting notifications. They call these ring lights as Dual Orbit Lights.

Connectivity and Features

There is not much difference in their basic connectivity features. One exception would be the Wi-Fi 6 support with Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, which OPPO Reno7 Z 5G does not have. On the other hand, Reno would have a slightly higher IP rating when it comes to liquid protection than Redmi. Then again, Reno does not seem to have been tested yet with solids, whereas Redmi has indicated dust protection.

Battery

Both have similar battery capacities, but if faster charging is a preference, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G can offer 120 watts, while OPPO Reno7 Z 5G has to do with 33 watts.

Price

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB is priced at PHP 19,999 and PHP 21,999, respectively. OPPO Reno7 Z 5G has a similar price range, being pegged at PHP 19,999.

Which one to get?

As witnessed in this concise comparison, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G appears to have more tangibles to work with compared to the similarly priced OPPO Reno7 Z 5G. If the aforementioned advantages weigh more in making your decision for your next phone, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G might be the better option at this juncture.
