ZTE’s HSPA+ Pocket WiFi selling for Php7,500

Looks like an HSPA+ capable pocket WiFi is now available in the grey market — we spotted one a week ago over at TPC, a ZTE MF60 4G, selling for Php7,500.

The device works the same as the old portable WiFi devices, only that this model supports the new HSPA+ network from both Globe and Smart — and as such has the possibility to reach the 10Mbps or 12Mbps downlink speeds of the telco.

ZTE MF60 4G MiFi Router
HSDPA/HSUPA/UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: DL 21.6Mbps, UL 5.76Mbps
WCDMA CS: 64Kbps UL/DL
WCDMA PS: 384Kbps UL/DL
WiFi Standard: 802.11 b/g/n
WiFi Security: WEP/WPA/WPA2/WAPI
Up to 8 concurrent users/devices on WiFi

The Php7,500 is practically the same price point a year ago for the Huawei MiFi, when it was still un-officially released in the country {via }. This also supports our earlier claim why the HSPA+ Smart Bro Rocket is priced at Php3,995.

Note though that this device is openline and might work with Globe’s HSPA+ to give you up to 10Mbps. However, it might not get you up to 12Mbps on Smart’s HSPA+ unless you use the special Smart Bro Rocket SIM (I have to verify this though).

That same seller in TPC is also selling a Huawei E353 HSPA+ modem for 2800 pesos. It is the same modem used in Smart Rocket.

ah ok. but do you think possible using some tweaks sa settings or such?

    • Avatar for Soul Annihilator Soul Annihilator says:

Yup. Sa may APN settings just use internet.globe.com.ph for postpaid. Ganun settings sa akin e. Pag nahawakan ko uli Superstick ko post ko dito complete settings ko.

    • Avatar for Soul Annihilator Soul Annihilator says:

Yan kasi yung Superstick ko eh. So with the right APN settings (most likely katulad ng settings ng Superstick ko) gagana yan sa Globe postpaid.

Thanks! what about the innove.net as the apn natry mo na? yun kasi ang apn dito sa globe wireless modem Huawei B200. But If ever I get my hands on this one ittry ko din yan internet.globe.com.ph

    • Avatar for Soul Annihilator Soul Annihilator says:

Yun lang po di ko sya mate-test kasi naka-grayed out yung APN settings dahil naka-lock sa Globe (custom firmware). Maaari kong ma-test kung mapapa-unlock ko, but that won’t be anytime soon.

Potek!!!!
