Chitika eMiniMalls Affiliate

Signed up last week for the Chitika eMiniMalls . Buzz has been going around that it pays quite better. Besides, been seeing their unique banner ads more often lately and it seems to be a click-magnet (I clicked on one or two before on other sites).

Application was up to speed and mine was approved in 24 hours. I immediately emailed back their support asking if I could put the ads on multiple sites only to find out from the FAQ later that they do as long as it complies with their policies.

Once logged in, I found out that their listed mode or payment is only thru Paypal. I quickly emailed them again about this and they promptly replied that they now allow cheque payments for amounts greater than $50. One just needs to send them a note if they want to withdraw the amount already. Nice move there.

However, they also added that “at this time we only accept clicks from US, Canada, UK and France. We do not accept traffic from Asia. If you audience is most Asia, this might be a problem. Just a heads up.”

I checked my blog stats and found out that I’m getting more than half of blog traffic from the US. If I use Chitika, I’d be dealing with some clicks that would not earn me a cent. Okay, that’s the gamble here. Now, I’m trying it on PinoyBlog and see if will work. Chitika has this feature that allows you to target specific products or keywords so that it won’t be in conflict with AdSense’s contextual ads.

Over the weekend, clicks were almost close to none but the few ones that managed thru got very high returns. So, I’m extending the testing phase and maybe also place similar ads to other blogs.

    Hi Migs,

Please check your plugin or script. That error is caused if there are trailing spaces after the end tag.

If you’re interested, I developed a plugin that lets you put an eMiniMall right into your post, using WordPress’s Quicktags Toolbar. I’ve seen this improve my CTR. The plugin lets you insert an eMiniMall into your post by clicking a button. Visit this post for more information on my eMiniMall Plugin for WordPress.
