Kickstart Ventures Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom has recently invested $100K dollars or more than Php4M in startup online learning platform Kalibrr.
Kalibrr is an online learning platform that is designed to help Filipinos qualify and land jobs in the local business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. It is co-founded in January 2012 by UC Berkeley graduates Paul Rivera and Dexter Ligot-Gordon and is composed of talents from the Philippines and around the world.
In a nutshell, what Kalibrr does is help its users learn the critical skills needed to start a career in the BPO industry. Once users complete the online program (some of their graduates completed it in a week), Kalibrr refers them to its partner companies for a job interview. BPO companies then pay a fixed fee for every candidate they hire through Kalibrr.
The best part? Kalibrr’s services are absolutely free. And since it is an online platform, you can attend the program at home or at an internet cafe. At present, Kalibrr is focused on getting users call center jobs in Metro Manila but will soon cater to companies in other industries, and expand to other provinces in the Philippines and abroad.
As for Kickstart Ventures Inc.’s view of their partnership with Kalibrr, “Kalibrr represents the kind of startup that we want to invest in: a transformational idea, an ambitious plan, and a strong drive to execute in-market,” says Kickstart President Minette Navarrete. “We’re thrilled to join their drive to innovate in the education-to-employment space.”
Kalibrr CEO Paul Rivera says, “Through this investment, we aim to disrupt the way people prepare for and qualify for work globally. We are a Filipino brand with a global vision.”

Nice post, I’d like to add that… Penny stocks are extremely volatile. This means the price of these stocks is changing on a constant basis. Therefore, if you plan on investing in penny stocks, it is important that you set up an exit plan, and when the time comes to exit, ensure you stick to this plan.

Good stuff, please allow me to add…If you are in the market for a piece of jewelry you can realize significant savings by waiting for the right
time of year to buy. Christmas and Valentine’s day are especially busy times of the year for jewelers, and they may be less likely to negotiate during these times of year.
