2024 MWC: Oppo unveils Air Glass 3 along with new Ai center

At the Mobile World Congress 2024, OPPO, a global technology leader, introduced a prototype for its next-generation assisted reality glasses, OPPO Air Glass 3. The innovative glasses, showcased alongside the announcement of the OPPO AI Center and the release of the OPPO AI Smartphone White Paper, signify the company’s commitment to advancing AI technology and its integration into everyday devices.

The OPPO Air Glass 3 prototype offers users a seamless AI experience, enabling access to OPPO’s AndesGPT model via a smartphone. With a focus on cross-device collaboration between XR devices and smartphones, the glasses provide a lightweight and user-friendly interface for various AI-powered tasks.

Equipped with a self-developed resin waveguide, the OPPO Air Glass 3 ensures a comfortable wearing experience akin to regular glasses. Weighing just 50 grams, the glasses boast a display brightness uniformity of over 50% and a peak eye brightness of over 1,000 nits, delivering exceptional visual clarity.

Through the Air Glass APP on a smartphone, users can activate the AI voice assistant with a simple press on the glasses’ temple, enabling a range of tasks with ease. Additionally, touch interaction allows for intuitive control of functions such as music playback, voice calls, and information display.

The OPPO AI Center, established on February 20, underscores OPPO’s commitment to AI research and development. This hub aims to drive user-centric exploration of AI technology and applications, with plans to integrate generative AI features into upcoming OPPO products, including the Reno11 Series and the OPPO Find N3.

Collaboration is key to OPPO’s vision of a mature AI ecosystem, as demonstrated by partnerships with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., startup AlpsenTek, and other industry leaders. Together, they have pioneered the use of Hybrid Vision Sensing (HVS) technology and developed the AI Motion algorithm, enhancing image and video capture capabilities on smartphones.

At MWC 2024, OPPO showcased its collaborative efforts with Google, Qualcomm Technologies, and MediaTek, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing technological experiences through partnerships across the industry. Additionally, OPPO’s collaboration with Microsoft will soon enable users to utilize AI technology to enhance their experiences across different devices.
