Acer still #1 in Notebook Sales in the Philippines

Acer once again led consumer notebook sales in 2022, marking its 16th consecutive year of taking charge with a 35.2% market share. Acer also holds the top spot in the gaming notebook category with a 40.4% market share according to a third-party research firm. In comparison, Acer had an overall market share of 33% – 30% in consumer notebooks and 34% in gaming notebooks in 2021.

Post-pandemic hybrid work made Acer laptops more of a necessity, peaking in the month of October 2022 with a 48.2% market share. The education sector was also a huge contributor to Acer’s growth with a plethora of different options and product offerings showing bang for buck propositions that can suit needs and demands of various clientele.

Sustainability efforts from the company, particularly by their Acer Vero green PC also helped drive-up laptop sales. This is further magnified with other green activities such as #MakeYourGreenMark 21-Day Challenge and the Green Mark Concert, where Acer fans helped raise Php1.38USD 0.02INR 2EUR 0.02CNY 0.17 million for the GreenEarth Heritage Foundation and 20 metric tons of plastic waste compensation for the Plaf. Acer ambassadors such as Sarah Geronimo, SB19, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla also helped to get the brand’s messages across to consumers.

In the gaming side, Acer Predator’s ambassadors Alodia Gosiengfiao, Team Payaman, Een Mercado, Kang Dupet, Blacklist International Dota 2 Team, Team Secret Valorant, Polaris Esports, and Boom Esports resonated very well with the community with the usage of its gaming laptops. Acer’s support of e-sports and various grassroots tournaments for up-and-coming gamers also generated buzz and hype along with the Asia Pacific Predator League 2022 Grand Finals was finally staged offline after two years of being held online.

Another reason for the company’s growth is the product accessibility and ease of purchase of Acer products via its Acer Concept Stores, authorized dealers, website, and e-commerce stores like Lazada and Shopee.
