AI-powered Bing now on mobile and Skype

Remember Microsoft’s all-new AI-powered Bing search engine and Microsoft Edge browser that allows users to chat as they would with ChatGPT? Well, now it’s on both mobile and Skype.

Bing Skype

In a post on Microsoft’s Official Blog, Microsoft Corporate Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer Yusuf Mehdi announced that the software company is previewing the release of the new Bing and Edge mobile apps.

Mehdi says that they are beginning to roll out the new Bing and Edge on smartphones and adding features such as voice input.

Bing mobile

Available on iOS and Android today, the Bing mobile app will allow users to invoke a chat session with Bing’s AI-powered chatbot where you can ask it questions and get answers, bullet points, text, or simplified responses.

In addition, Microsoft says it is creating a new chat experience with Skype by bringing the AI-powered Bing to the telecommunications app.

Mehdi says they pushed for Bing’s mobile release since “64% of searches occur on mobile phones.”

Microsoft says that you will be able to add Bing to a Skype group chat and ask it to answer any question, such as the examples shown in the photos above.

The company says that the rollout of the feature will have varying interfaces during the initial stages.
