Alcatel Flash 2 becomes official

Alcatel has just launched the Flash 2 in the Philippines. It’s by no means a successor to the Flash Plus since the hardware specifications point to an entirely new line in the 5-inch category.

The Flash2 is another mid-range smartphone that features an LED flash at the back and front side of the camera. The rear flash also comes with dual-LED and dual-tone function.

Alcatel Flash 2 specs:
5.0-inch IPS LCD @ 1280×720 pixels
Mediatek MK6735 1.3GHz octa-core processor
ARM Mali-T720 GPU
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
Up to 64GB via microSD card
3G, HSPA+, LTE
Dual-SIM, dual LTE
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS with aGPS support
13MP AF rear camera with dual-LED, dual-tone flash
5MP front-facing camera with LED flash
3,000mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 5.1 Lollipop

The unit has a removable back plate but the battery is not user-replaceable.

The Flash 2 will come in two colors — white and vulcanic gray, and has a suggested retail price of Php6,190 when it lands in store shelves.

its mediatek based. Is the GPS any good? Rule of thumb is for mediatek GPS takes 5-30 minutes to get a lock and the GPs antenna is much weaker
