Alibaba has shared how the Alibaba Cloud data center in the Philippines can help boost the e-commerce experience in the country.
With the increased reliance on e-commerce, Filipino businesses have realized the importance of utilizing cloud technologies. With its recent establishment of its first cloud region in the Philippines, it has strengthened the reach of its integrated suite of cloud products and services. Alibaba Cloud currently has 80 availability zones around the globe.
According to Alibaba, the Alibaba Cloud can ensure faster, reliable, and safe operations by moving its data centers closer to the different geographies it services. An example of this is Lazada’s use of Alibaba Cloud’s Content Distribution Network (CDN) which leads to users enjoying a good performance and uninterrupted streaming at top speed. In addition, Alibaba Cloud’s trained technical experts can support the enterprises that use its full suite of products.
To complement the investment in the Philippine region, Alibaba will train 50,000 Filipinos and certify 10,000 in a span of three years so that they can fully maximize Alibaba Cloud’s cloud and digital intelligence technologies. According to Alibaba, this is a welcome development for the country’s eCommerce 2022 Roadmap, which includes a plan to upskill and reskill Philippine talent to support e-commerce growth.
A survey of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry reveals that more than half of MSMEs surveyed barely use digital technology for their business. 23% do not use digital tools in their companies, while 51% only have business emails. Only 6% use advanced digital tools.
Lastly, aside from the parallel priorities with the eCommerce 2022 Road Map, Alibaba Cloud’s direction in the Philippines aligns with the government’s Cloud First Policy. It promotes cloud computing as the preferred technology for the delivery of services. Alibaba Cloud’s comprehensive suite of cloud-based solutions has been tried and tested in big enterprises, developers, and government organizations in more than 200 countries and regions worldwide.
With the first cloud region in the Philippines now in operation, Alibaba Cloud has stated that they will be improving businesses in and out of the country with their robust and reliable solutions.
Alibaba Cloud currently has an exclusive Philippine datacenter launch promo with up to 50% off in discounts. For more information, click here.
