Lazada has recently announced that it will be offering products from Alibaba’s Taobao Marketplace to its customers here in the Philippines, as well as in Indonesia, and Thailand.
Even before this expansion announcement, Lazada has already been integrated with Alibaba’s Taobao Collection and has been offering Taobao’s products in Singapore and Malaysia. According to Aimone Ripa di Meana, Lazada’s chief marketplace officer, the integration of Taobao’s products is “simply a matter of responding to customers’ interest and demands”. Apart from that, Lazada will be offering its trademark cash-on-delivery (COD) option to products coming from the Taobao Collection.
Alibaba’s Taobao Collection will be available for Lazada customers in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand within the next few weeks.
