Along with the macOS Big Sur and iOS 14, Apple recently introduced the watchOS 7 for its Apple Watch. The software offers more options for personalization, optimizes sleep tracking, and detects hands washing.
These are the things that users should look forward to watchOS 7:
• Chronograph Pro with tachymeter
• Color filter for the Photos and rich complication for X-Large face
• Customizable watch faces – users may change the watch faces online and share it through websites, Messages, Mail, and App Store.
• Offer more information per app
• Sleep Mode – keeps away your screen from waking up and turns on Do Not Disturb mode on the connected iPhone
• Sleep analysis chart – shows the average hours of sleep weekly
• Sleep tracking – detection of micro-movements through accelerometer
• Wind Down – helps users in establishing bedtime routines
• Wake Up Mode – activates silent haptic alarm or gentle sounds
• Battery reminder which notifies the users to charge when the battery is too low within an hour of bedtime
• New featured workouts – tracks fitness metrics for Dance, Functional Strength Training, Core Training, and Cooldown.
• Fitness app – easier viewing of Activity, Workouts, Awards, and Activity Trends; navigate Activity Sharing and Activity competition in one place
• Maps – offers cycling directions along bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly roads; search establishments along routes
• Handwashing detection – activates 20-second countdown timer, automatic home reminder for handwashing,
• Siri – spoken translations of 10 languages, run shortcuts on watch faces, on-device dictation for reliability, supports Announce Messages with Siri
• Privacy – encryption of Health data on the device or in iCloud
• Hearing Health – weekly listening notification and weekly listening summary for recommending and tracking high-decibel sounds each week, reduces loud sounds when in headphone mode
The public beta for watchOS 7 will be available soon to Apple Watch users.
