Apple today has updated its vintage and obsolete product lists and added two older iPhone models and a couple of Watch Series 2 models.
The iPhone 6S Plus along with the iPhone XS Max are now officially ‘vintage’ worldwide.
Meanwhile, the aluminum and stainless-steel Watch Series 2 models now bite the dust in the “obsolete” list. The high-end Watch Series 2 with ceramic case, however, didn’t get the chop yet.
Released in 2015, the iPhone 6s Plus brought significant improvements over the regular iPhone 6 Series, which was notoriously known for its “bendgate” issue. Apple addressed this by using a stronger aluminum material and overall having a reinforced design — making it more durable and less susceptible to bending.
Meanwhile, the iPhone XS Max, powered by the Apple A12 Bionic, retained the revolutionary design of the iPhone X, but was sporting a bigger, more immersive 6.5-inch Super Retina OLED screen.
Despite it now being classified as vintage, the iPhone XS Max was still able to get the latest iOS 18.1 update from October this year.
Furthermore, its iconic camera design somehow made a comeback with the new iPhone 16 with dual cameras aligned on the left. Except, it’s now packing bigger sensors.
