Apple is launching new AI processing M4 chips for the next line of MacBooks this year.
The company is aiming to release the new Mac line later this year and early next year.
Devices are inclusive of new iMacs, a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and Mac minis.
According to this article, Apple is planning to highlight the AI processing capabilities of their new chips. The company is also developing ways to integrate this into the next macOS version.
This story came ahead of Apple’s annual developers conference in June. As of late, the company is already in talks with companies to develop AI.
We have yet to see when and if Apple will unveil significant changes to their software with the AI processing M4 chips. But as of today, three different M4 chip types are in development, each with its own codename.
Donan is a budget-friendly chip, followed by Brava in mid-tier, and Hidra as a top-tier M4 chip.
Donan will power entry-level MacBooks and Mac minis. Brava will be featured with premium MacBook Pro and Mac mini devices. As for Hidra, it will be fitted with the Mac powerhouses.
