Apple has officially launched the next generation of Apple TV 4K, delivering 4K High Frame Rate HDR with Dolby Vision.
The new Apple TV 4K is powered by an A12 Bionic chip and runs under tvOS. It comes with an all-new design along with the Siri Remote with intuitive navigation controls. Together with tvOS, the company claims that the Apple TV 4K works seamlessly with Apple devices and services.
With the A12 Bionic, Apple TV 4K currently supports high frame rate HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision video, achieving 60 frames per second (fps). Apple mentioned that they are working with video providers worldwide, including FOX Sports, NBCUniversal, Paramount+, Red Bull TV, and Canal+, as they stream in high frame rate HDR.
It also supports a high frame rate in AirPlay, enabling videos shot on iPhone 12 Pro to be displayed in full 60fps Dolby Vision on the new Apple TV 4K. Other features include Audio Sharing, iPhone control, Multiuser support, Photos, and App Store.
Apple TV works with iPhone and its advanced sensors to enhance a television’s picture quality. Apple TV also uses the light sensor in iPhone to compare the color balance to the industry-standard specifications used by cinematographers globally. As per Apple, using this data, Apple TV automatically adjusts its video output to give more accurate colors and improved contrast without the need to adjust television settings.
It comes in two configurations: 32GB or 64GB. It features WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, IR receiver, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI 2.1 port for connectivity.
The Apple TV 4K supports Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple Arcade with a subscription required. However, those who will purchase the Apple TV 4K would get a free one-year Apple TV+ subscription.
The Apple TV 4K comes with a price tag of PHP 10,990USD 187INR 15,876EUR 178CNY 1,364 for the 32GB and PHP 11,990USD 204INR 17,321EUR 195CNY 1,488 for the 64GB. There’s no news yet about its local availability, so stay tuned!
