Apple just released its new Watch Series 8 and 2nd generation Watch SE.
The Apple Watch Series 8 now has an Always on Display and new Watch Faces. It’s also Swim Proof, Dust Proof, and Crack Resistant.
Aside from the Fall Protection and Emergency SOS, the Apple Watch Series 8 also features now Crash Detection. Crash Detection can detect if its user experiences a severe car crash which is possible with its built-in accelerometers, microphones, GPS, and sensor fusion algorithms, and will automatically connect you with emergency services and notify emergency contacts.
Within its Health Sensors, a new addition to the Sleep Tracking, ECG and Blood Oxygen is the new Temperature Sensor. It can detect and update a user’s temperature every 5 seconds and with the help of this new sensor, Apple has embedded its new Advanced Menstrual Cycle Tracking. The Apple Watch Series 8 now has a New Cycle Tracking period for Ovulation and it can also notify the user of its possible cycle deviation. In terms of data privacy, the Health data of the user is fully encrypted end-to-end.
The Apple Watch Series 8 has an 18-hour battery life, but can still be extended up to 36 hours through its new Low Power Mode which lets the Apple Watch run on Core features while extending its battery life. This is available for Series 4 and above that runs on watchOS 9. In addition to this is the inclusion of International Roaming for its cellular model.
Apple Watch Series 8 is available in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Product red colors. For the stainless steel, it’ll be available in Gold, Silver and Graphite.
For the Apple Watch SE 2, it’s 30% larger screen that the previous Apple Watch Series 3, and it now has the SiP 8 chip which is 20% faster than previous models. Apple Watch SE 2 also has Heart rate notifications, Crash Detection features, Sleep Stages, Fall Detection, Multisport Workouts, Apple Pay, Activity Tracking, and more.
The Apple Watch Series 8 starts at a price of PHP 25,990 for the GPS-only variant and PHP 31,990 for its cellular variant. It’s available for pre-order starting today and it’ll be available starting September 16, 2022.
Apple Watch SE 2 price starts at PHP 15,990 for its GPS variant while the cellular variant starts at PHP 18,990 and will be released this September 16, 2022.
