The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has made its debut in Cupertino alongside the newest iPhone 15 Series.
This rugged smartwatch features the latest Apple S9 SiP, the new Double Tap gesture controls, and a second generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip that offers improved location tracking to other Apple devices.
It boasts a 49mm titanium casing and a 1.92-inch Always-on Retina display that shines brighter than before. It can reach a peak brightness of 3000 nits, compared to its predecessor which only reached 2000 nits.
Battery life is the same at 36 hours. In low power mode though, it can last up to 72 hours.
Just like the Apple Watch Series 9, it takes security and convenience to the next level. Siri requests and health data access are now processing on-device itself. This ensures faster and more reliable responses without relying on Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
Plus, users can now perform common actions on the watch. Simply by double tapping their index finger and thumb, without even touching the display.
It runs watchOS 10 that lets users seamlessly connect to cycling peripherals, such as power meter pedals, via Bluetooth for accurate results. And with the ‘Smart Stack’ feature, widgets appear just when users need them
In addition to the cutting-edge features of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the fashion-conscious will be pleased to know that there are new band colors.
The Alpine Loop adds blue, indigo, and olive; the Trail Loop adds orange/beige, green/gray, and blue/black; and the Ocean Band in blue and orange.
