Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be scheduled from June 10 to 14.
Like the previous WWDC events, it is at this event that we can expect to see what new software updates and developments will be rolled out by Apple later this year. The event will start with a keynote on June 10, 2024, which will be available online.
At the moment, there is a lot of mystery regarding what Apple will be showing at WWDC 2024. From their official announcement, the brand will “spotlight the latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS advancements”. In addition, the event will provide developers will access to Apple experts along with new tools, frameworks, and features.
“We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.”
There is a lot of speculation about what Apple might reveal at WWDC 2024, including the potential launch of iOS 18. While there is no mention of AI in their official press release, it is possible that the updated version of iOS could feature some form of generative AI and similar features.
What is interesting in the announcement is the updates coming to visionOS. For those unfamiliar, visionOS runs on the recently released Apple Vision Pro. With new updates coming, we’re excited to see what else the VR headset can do. Who knows, it might even come with AI features as well, similar to that rumored with iOS.
