More and more companies are throwing their hat in the AI ring.
Chinese search engine and multinational company Baidu has just unveiled its answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT with the release of Ernie Bot.
As reported by AP News, Ernie bot is being positioned as a direct competitor of ChatGPT.
According to Baidu CEO Robin Li, Ernie Bot is still in development but was presented to the public because of high demand.
Li said that 650 companies have already signed up to use Ernie Bot. Like ChatGPT, Ernie Bot is able to produce images based on text prompts provided by the user and can answer questions just like most AI services being offered today.
It was highlighted, however, that the demonstration of Ernie Bot’s capabilities was pre-recorded and not done live.
We recently reported that OpenAI and Microsoft had just launched GPT-4, a new version of ChatGPT that they say is 500 times more powerful than the original ChatGPT.
It seems like other companies still have a ways to go in catching up to ChatGPT’s technology.
