Blackmagic introduces URSA Cine Immersive Camera line for Apple Vision Pro Content Creation

Blackmagic Design has announced the development of the URSA Cine Immersive camera, a cutting-edge device engineered to capture content for the Apple Vision Pro with an impressive 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye. Designed for producing high-quality 90fps stereoscopic 3D immersive cinema content, the camera boasts 16 stops of dynamic range, setting a new standard for immersive video production.

Constructed with a durable magnesium alloy chassis and a carbon fiber polycarbonate composite skin, the URSA Cine Immersive combines robust build quality with advanced functionality. It features dual 5-inch HDR touchscreens and an external color status LCD screen for enhanced usability. Connectivity is comprehensive, with options including 12G-SDI out, 10G Ethernet, USB-C, XLR audio ports, and an 8-pin Lemo connector for power.

The camera comes equipped with an 8TB Blackmagic Media Module, capable of storing approximately two hours of 8K stereoscopic video recorded in Blackmagic RAW format. Additionally, the URSA Cine Immersive supports Cloud Store, enabling fast media upload and synchronization through its 10G Ethernet connection.

Alongside the camera release, Blackmagic Design is updating its DaVinci Resolve editing software to better accommodate Vision Pro content creation. The new version will include an immersive video viewer, allowing editors to pan, tilt, and roll clips for enhanced viewing on 2D monitors or directly on the Apple Vision Pro headset.

While Blackmagic Design has not yet announced the pricing for the URSA Cine Immersive, the camera’s advanced features and robust design make it a highly anticipated addition to the professional video production market.
