NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has officially revealed the next-generation RTX 50-Series of GPUs in a keynote at CES 2025.
Four GPUs in particular are on the way to the market boasting the new Blackwell architecture: RTX 5090 (USD 1,999PHP 115,978INR 171,567EUR 1,943CNY 14,639), RTX 5080 (USD 999PHP 57,960INR 85,741EUR 971CNY 7,316), RTX 5070 Ti (USD 749PHP 43,455INR 64,284EUR 728CNY 5,485), and RTX 5070 (USD 549PHP 31,852INR 47,119EUR 534CNY 4,020).
NVIDIA says they will be available as early as February 2025.
The RTX 50-series GPUs feature a new Founders Edition design with dual flow-through fans, a 3D vapor chamber, and GDDR7 memory. All models support PCIe Gen 5 and DisplayPort 2.1b for 8K at 165Hz displays.
The RTX 5090 Founders Edition is a two-slot GPU, fitting smaller PC cases compared to the bulky RTX 4090. It offers 32GB of GDDR7, 1,792GB/sec memory bandwidth, and 21,760 CUDA cores.
NVIDIA claims it will be twice as fast as the RTX 4090, thanks to DLSS 4 and Blackwell architecture. However, it demands 575 watts of power, with a recommended 1,000-watt PSU. In performance tests, Cyberpunk 2077 ran at 238fps on the RTX 5090 with DLSS 4, compared to 106fps on the RTX 4090 with DLSS 3.5.
The RTX 5080, designed to be twice as fast as the RTX 4080, comes with 16GB of GDDR7 and 960GB/sec memory bandwidth, requiring 360 watts and an 850-watt PSU.
NVIDIA also introduces the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. The RTX 5070 Ti, with 16GB of GDDR7, 8,960 CUDA cores, and 300 watts of power, promises double the performance of the RTX 4070 Ti.
The RTX 5070 offers 12GB of GDDR7, 6,144 CUDA cores, and 250 watts of power.
The RTX 50-series will also be available for laptops, with the RTX 5090 offering 24GB of GDDR7.
NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPUs, showcased at CES, bring new AI-driven features, including RTX Neural Materials and faces, and DLSS 4 for improved performance and image quality. DLSS 4 will also upgrade existing RTX GPUs.
The launch of the RTX 50-series marks more than two years since NVIDIA debuted its Ada Lovelace-based RTX 40-series, which brought major improvements in ray tracing and DLSS 3.
Despite the power increase, the new GPUs aim to push the boundaries of gaming performance with enhanced AI-driven technologies.
